Locals Spot A Dog Stuck On The Edge Of A Balcony Turns Out She Tried To Escape Her Abusive Owner

Pro member If anyone has a pet, everyone expects their owner to be caring, loving and responsible. Sadly, some people fall short of this expectation, and we ask ourselves why anyone let them have a pet in the first place. And we're not talking about being perfect: no one is perfect, but some people are really horrible. Take the situation that happened in Tutaev, Russia. Somebody noticed a dog hanging upside down from the edge of a balcony, people started gathering and rushed to solve the situation, which could have ended disastrously for the dog. They helped the dog out, but as they soon found out, it was only just a scratch compared to what she had to suffer beforehand. The balcony situation was no accident-Rada, as she was later called, wanted to get out of the apartment. More info: vk.com

This is Rada a poor emaciated dog who was left for dead in an apartment building

Nobody knows who saw her first but somebody noticed a dog hanging out of a balcony in Tutaev Russia

Image credits: Milana Borodina But let's start from the beginning. On a day like any other, the passersby heard shrieking howls coming from an apartment building. As some tried to investigate where it was coming from, they saw a terrifying sight - a dog was hanging upside down out of the edge of a second-floor balcony. By the looks of it, Rada could've slipped at any moment, and it could've ended tragically.

The locals quickly mobilized to help the dog out of a dangerous situation where she was hanging on for dear life

Image credits: Milana Borodina As time passed, more and more locals started gathering: at first there were seemingly only children (the video itself was captured by one of them), but soon enough the adults came to help. Somebody provided a ladder, and a man rescued Rada. All seemed well, but only for a moment; everyone immediately noticed that something wasn't right about the way she looked.

The rescue operation was successful and at the time nobody realized the extent of her damage

Everyone was shocked at how poor the dog looked even children realized that she was in very bad shape

Image credits: tvorydobro_zoo When Rada came down the ladder in the man's hands, people gasped: she didn't look healthy at all, her ribs were easily visible, and even the naive children realized that she was starving and weak. This, of course, raised some questions about the owner, but at the time, Rada's health was more important than justice, and somebody rushed her to the vet.

The dog was diagnosed with anemia a blood condition where the blood has hemoglobin deficiency

Image credits: Рада – собака из Тутаева While she was there, she got diagnosed with anemia, hemoglobin deficiency in the blood, which was probably caused by a long period of starvation or malnourishment. In addition to that, she was clearly exhausted, scared, and traumatized. But the good news was that she started getting treatment.

None of the nearby shelters wanted to take the dog but an hour after the news broke one person stated that the dog was taken to the clinic

Image credits: tvorydobro_zoo The local animal shelters were less than hospitable to Rada and didn't want to take the poor dog under their wing. But as one door shuts, another one opens. Some good-willed volunteers and the "Do Good" animal protection society managed to find her some food and a roof over her head.

The people were curious about the situation and wanted to figure out what happened Apparently she was held prisoner by her alcoholic owner

Image credits: tvorydobro_zoo As for the owner, well, the story is very complicated. Turns out he's well-known to the police, and the officers were frequently called to the apartment, but for other matters. Russian newspapers reported that the owner is a drunkard who frequently drank with his friends, often made a ruckus, and even refused to let police in after they'd been called to manage the situation. But things continued; the owner didn't care at all about the fines. Local volunteer Galina Ionina filed an additional police report for animal cruelty.

The police had been called on the owner numerous times before He was fined but didn t care at all and continued his cruel behavior

Image credits: tvorydobro_zoo The investigation revealed that the owner just heartlessly left the town and locked up a cat and a dog in an apartment, leaving them to die. And sadly, despite her pain, Rada was still more lucky than the cat: Russian reporters told that the cat didn't survive. Poor kitty… Image credits: tvorydobro_zoo Image credits: Рада – собака из Тутаева

The people at Do Good animal protection society took over the custody of the dog

Image credits: Рада – собака из ТутаеваBeggars can't be choosers, and even though it would've been nice if the cat survived, we can't ignore that at least one of them made it out of the prison. The dog is slowly but surely recovering, and the "Do Good" animal protection society took over the custody of Rada. She's in much better hands now, and let's hope she'll find a forever home, one where she can feel loved and cared for.

She s getting better day by day

Image credits: Рада – собака из Тутаева

Despite the horrific event the dog is in good hands now and is on her way to recovery

Not for the abuse of an animal, not for the abuse of a human, not EVER. Lots of people are abused and don't use that as an excuse to abuse anothers - and truly the real victims would never want to inflict such suffering on another anyway, because they know what it is like. Abusers are not the victims, EVER, and to suggest so is such an astonishing insult to actual abuse victims who are debased by a society who thinks there is EVER a justification for it. 5 5points reply TheAnimalLady TheAnimalLady Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago (edited) This comment is hidden. Sometimes because they are so warped by what was done to them, they were "taught" it's normal or because they have no other way to deal with it. Careful, people who use such extreme absolutes are part of the problem. It would help you to research the subject, I'd suggest PsychologyToday.com. I hope this dog finds a wonderful home. 59 59points reply AnnaBanana AnnaBanana Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago Yeah, when it comes to animal abuse, I can't find ANY reason to excuse it. None. 14 14points reply Load More Replies... I wasn't excusing it, I was just explaining what I've seen repeatedly during 30yrs of animal rescue work. And how we don't always know the real story, just what the person speaking wants us to believe... whether they are the abuser or "rescuer". Clearly this dog is really neglected, I'm referring to the fakers mining "likes" for income. 0 0points reply TheAnimalLady TheAnimalLady Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago (edited) Then you must have only worked with the animals and not the people. Because "Hurt People Hurt People (&Pets)" and I've seen it every single time I rescued an animal. But it's not usually on purpose, it's often "this weekend we'll have time" or "next paycheck & we go to the vet", but then car breaks down or... 4 4points reply Terilee Bruyere Terilee Bruyere Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago As the person in charge of cat adoptions I worked with people on a daily basis. Things come up, that's completely understandable. This dog was left to DIE, not fed less or given less care because bills or unexpected situations got in the way, and THAT is what I saw far too often. 13 13points reply littlesaresare littlesaresare Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago There is no excuse for abuse, ever. Click here to view. As I flat out said...not excusing, am explaining. And victims of abuse often go on to perpetuate it themselves. Sometimes because they are so warped by what was done to them, they were "taught" it's normal or because they have no other way to deal with it. Careful, people who use such extreme absolutes are part of the problem. It would help you to research the subject, I'd suggest PsychologyToday.com. How many "rehabilitated" criminals are letting loose, only to kill again??? 1 1point reply Monty Is Fiennes Monty Is Fiennes Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago Sorry not good enough, no matter what , if you can do this to a pet, you can do it to a child. People need to stop expecting animals to be emotional crutches... no matter how F'ed up you... no animal deserves this... 2 2points reply DementedFoxx DementedFoxx Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago I honestly don't give a ? how that ? was hurting... He is just a poor excuse for a human being who has no heart or soul. How is that there are people who are hurting and THEY can still love and care for animals??!! Hurting my ass! That poor furkid and kitty were left TO DIE! Sadly, one of them did. Excuses for being a shitty human being do not fly by me. I hope he rots in hell for all eternity... And every other idiot who thinks that this kind 9f behavior is ok 2 2points reply TheAnimalLady TheAnimalLady Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago No one's even implied that this kind of behavior is ok. We are discussing explanations not excuses...cause and effect, appropriate and inappropriate reactions, and possible treatment and punishment options. 0 0points reply Christina Uhlir Christina Uhlir Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago No need for discussion. 1 1point reply Yoga Kitty Yoga Kitty Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago I get what you mean - sometimes the abuser is already so far out of their own mind that they cannot even be held responsible for what they did. In addition, trying to cure bad or cruel behaviour with equally bad or cruel behaviour will never work - this is not justice, it is called revenge. Although my heart goes out to this poor doggy and its dead kitty sister, they will not be any better off if people want to hurt their abuser. It would only make the world an even darker place. 0 0points reply Christina Uhlir Christina Uhlir Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago But the sicko's next victims would be better off. 1 1point reply Christina Uhlir Christina Uhlir Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago Unfortunately, it is usually on purpose!!! You are too quick to excuse inexcusable. If one is not able taking care of an animal, take him/her to a shelter. 1 1point reply Lyone Fein Lyone Fein Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago So glad that a place like this exists in Russia, so that this pup can get well.
