Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled File Size Revealed Nintendo Life

Ahead of the pack by Share: An updated listing for on the North American eShop reveals the game's digital file size will take up 5.7GB. As NintendoSoup notes, this file size may differ from region to region. Assuming the listing is accurate, it means Crash Team Racing is the smallest out of the main kart racing games on the Nintendo Switch. In comparison, the recently released requires 7.0GB of free space and Nintendo's very own needs 6.8GB of storage. We can only hope there are no setbacks associated with the current file size of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled on the Switch. After all, Sega and Sumo Digital got caught out when players there was no intro cutscene included in the Nintendo version of Team Sonic Racing. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled isn't available for pre-order just yet, but it should be quite soon, given the game is arriving later this month on 21st June. If you haven't already, now is probably a good time to consider a if you are planning on purchasing the digital version of this title. Have you been holding out for this particular racing game? You're gonna Crash! AHH! Given its a UE4 game that size seems small for the volume of content... EDIT: I've been informed by a colleague that this is a fork of the proprietary Alchemy SDK. So any knowledge I have on UE4 is irrelevant XD Cool. 5 GB is nice to see. The magic of Nintendo's compression. XB1 version of CTRNF is 15.05 GB, the XB1 version of N Sane Trilogy is 18.9 GB vs 5.2 GB. of the Switch version. Imagine how many articles we could read every single day if every video game had an article of its own about its size. We could read articles forever! TSR's digital file size is 7GB. Not surprised though. CTR didn't really have a whole lot to begin with. If this game runs at 60fps on Switch, it will make SEGA and TSR look like a bad joke CTR will only be 60fps on PS4 pro and Xbox one X. It would be nice. But I think Mario Kart 8 Deluxe achieves 60FPS by using adaptive resolution. Hopefully they are putting some work into the Switch release because frame dips can ruin an otherwise good racing game. Needless to say it would be risky to order this one before the reviews. if that’s right, then this will definitely be a “wait and see”. As DF pointed out it wasn’t so much the frame rate but rather the frame pacing that made TSR awkward on many platforms. Hopefully they are able to lock it at 30 and use adaptive res on Switch. apparently when it comes to the Switch, size is everything Another reason for buying a physical copy. I pre ordered mine last week. maybe a good reason for getting the PS version. I've seen the Switch screenshots of the game, and I highly doubt that thumbnail is one of them. The resolution seems noticeably lower than other platforms, and the lighting and textures also seem quite inferior. I'm a little worried, as Switch will be the platform I pick this game up for, but I really hope I'm wrong. I've seen some comparasion videos on Youtube and it seems to hold up well. Some of the foliage and smoke/mud effects seem to have been removed or toned down. Nothing major but noticeable... It still run very nicely so should play decently. Time will tell!! it would but it won’t It’ll remain that way while storage is still an issue. Hopefully won’t be too long before the 1TB microSD card is a decent price. hehe, I was only making a crude joke. I totally understand the issues with file size. It was the same with the Playstation Vita, arguably moreso with the proprietary storage media. I have a 200GB memory card and even that is filling up worryingly quickly. Physical at GameStop also nets a cool Crash bobble head! The magic of downgrading effects, textures, assets, audio and content.
But, with all the downgrades for Switch version, the Switch version still able to deliver great performances. Well, the game hasn't been released yet. I am hoping for great performance on all platforms but we don't know yet. Anyway, the Switch version will be downgraded in some ways and that's not magic. I'm not sure why the article says this isn't available for pre-order yet. It's been on the eShop for several months, at least in the U.S.A. I'm getting the physical version I just hope the full game is on the cartridge Texture compression methods have come a long way, and since SD is far faster than DISC media they can get away with compressing it more to fit without effecting load times. Where have you got this info from ? Is the Switch downgrade mostly because of file size? It's really feeling like Nintendo shot themselves in the foot with such a costly cartridge & tiny internal console space. I know the Switch doesn't have the power of Xbox & PS, but I'm dying to know how much better or bigger games could be if card size wasn't an issue. At this point I'd pay more to buy a new switch successor without the overly expensive carts. Would the bigger regular SD cards have been so expensive? I hope it could surprise us with 60fps gameplay as Team Sonic Racing is meh now. it was leaked a few weeks back. the switch downgrade is natural. It's nothing to do with cart size. I am actually relived it's the size it is. Was worried it would be even lower. they will use an 8GB cart. Nothing to worry about
You could be right.
But, around the time Skyrim was releasing for the Switch, I recall reading that a company didn't think they could reduce or compress a 30-50GB game to fit on a 16GB cart, and that a larger cart would add too much to the cost of the game. So, if true, it's made me wonder what games are possible on the switch, but for card space. I have fond memories of playing this with my brother on his PlayStation. Yeah, I'm going to buy this physically, but later on as I have more interest in Super Neptunia RPG at the moment. Between this, Team Sonic Racing, and Mario Kart 8, all this fun kart racing on Switch makes me so happy. Hopefully this will steal Nickelodeon kart racers crown as the best of the rest kart racers Will look nice in my Switch collection Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
