Surprisingly, this wasn't included in the previous patch. Here are the patch notes in full for version 14.1.1:

Ver 14 1 1 Released April 18 2022

"General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience." Nintendo dataminer has shed some light on some of the behind-the-scenes changes. It seems version 14.1.1 has updated the "bad word list" - blocking some words in all languages and various phrases in Japanese: "[Nintendo Switch Firmware Update] Version 14.1.1 updated the bad words list to add the following: "sendnudes" for all languages, various phrases involving death in katakana (starting with シンデ〜)for Japanese" The system's internal web browser has also seemingly been updated, but it's not entirely clear what's been adjusted / changed: This update which was released at the start of April and added "Platinum Point notification settings". His favourite Nintendo character used to be a guitar-playing dog, but nowadays he prefers to hang out with Judd the cat. Comments ) Removed - unconstructive feedback May I offer you some stability in these trying times? I love the way these updates don't go into any specific detail. Oh and still no Themes either just a so called enhanced user experience that most of us won't even notice at all. Not having a go at you Liam btw this is aimed at Nintendo. I noticed my switch wasn’t very stable recently. That explains a lot. Either that or my chair isn’t level. I heard somewhere that this update also added another word to the banned word list. (For anyone curious, the banned words are "sendnudes" for English and various phrases involving "death" in katakana for Japan). Probably "stab" because of all of this stability in this patch. Here for the stability jokes. Take that, oh wobbly Switch! I don’t even feel like taking any shots at yet another “stability” update. There’s beating a dead horse, and then there’s beating the glue from made from said horse and stirring it into a grinder. hurrah! ? I'm feeling that user experience enhancement already. I have taken the prescriptive dose of stability today. I think I'm hooked to updates! Got a wobbly table? Pop a Nintendo Switch under that bad boy for maximum stability! Now you're tabling with POWER! : Ironic given that the Switch doesn’t even have a camera for the exchange of nudes. this begs the question if my hypothetical game titled “Send Noods,” a ramen restaurant sim where you manage a ramen shop, would be banned. ?
EDIT: don’t you dare think about stealing my hypothetical game that I’ll 100% never make idea. the regular posting of these short update articles, much like the switch updates themselves, bring a bit of stability to this site. It allows me to see the update on the system and not wonder, has the day finally come for more stability? That game needs to exist. : You’re too late. The crowdfunding campaign has already attracted $80,085, and some very charitable nudes. I don't understand why they have to block certain words. I can understand it for online games with chat functions, but I should be able to call my Pokémon whatever I want to.
Any news is news. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can tolerate it and move on. For some reason that made me imagine that one painting of a pipe that has the words "this is not a pipe" written under it. Except it would be the NintendoLife logo with "this is news" written under it. A stretch to be sure, but a welcome one. I don't have the st'ability to make stability jokes, so I'll go to bed and stabilize my mind. A good rest, yes. Rested mind, rested ability to update my Switch for stability. A simple life, yes. Where do the ban the phrases from? Usernames? They should data mine this update, maybe the rumor NSO GBA emulator is hiding somewhere in there too. so stable, much wow Now if only some of that so called 'stability' went in to making the eshop functional so that it doesn't lag every time we want to switch to a different tab in the menu and throw in some actual music while they're at it and put in a background as well. Dam! Was hoping this Nintendo update was getting things ready for Gameboy emulation lol I'll update my 7 Switch units asap, thanks. sendnewdsplsthnxfap That begs the question, is there any game like that? I don't want Overcooked, I don't want something like Coffee Talk/Vallhalla, I just want to manage a restaurant and see the numbers go up. What about “send-nudes-plz”? Anyway feels like it has been awhile since we got worthless stability/word filter updates My Dearest Vera, They have banned the phrase "Send Nudes" on the Nintendo Switch. I'm not sure how I will contend with these dark days. Please send nudes. My helmet for a pillow : Not that I am aware of, sadly. There are some casual restaurant games, like My Restaurant Star (?) which is part of the My Universe series of games (published by Microids), but there are only 30 possible dishes and it looks like a really basic game aimed at young girls. There may also be some by the developers of Game Dev Story, but I’ve found their games to be unpolished and very derivative (as most of their games look and play virtually indistinguishably). But like you, I would absolutely love a quality restaurant sim. "シンデ~" straight up means "Die!"
It's being banned as the Switch is now so stable you'd assume it to be dead in the first place. Was said horse beaten to death in its own… stable? Nintendo Switch: the most stable thing in my life right now. Switch updates for me has always been a smooth process. I have slow internet (about 5-10mbps), yet the Switch updates never take long. Unlike my Xbox One, constant updates, that always seem to be around 3gb.
Switch is actually a great console if you have slow internet. Updates quick, games are usually not that big, Nintendo’s eshop works better than the Xbox’s eshop with slow net, game updates are way smaller. I missed the stability updates Not really, only the jokes
You monster. They don't like the risk you might trade it or use it online. probably the switch is the issue, updated my chair last week but that did not solve the problem. Sendnoods I'm hungry. Music would make the eshop less stable. Stabability? I just updated and don't feel any more likely to be stabbed. Did I do something wrong? It took me like 30 reads to figure out what "sendnudes" was. Amazing how spaces and punctuation change how you see things. It looked like an autocorrect fail of something involving "sen dudes." Banning various words of "death" is a little weird though for video gaming. I know in Nintendo games Mario never "dies" he just "get defeated", but I'm pretty sure in Doom there's a lot of death going on, for example. And Dark Souls... "YOU [REDACTED]" Just doesn't have the same edge. that was my thought when I saw the update. Secretly adding the framework before the announcement. The Switch's firmware has what we all desire in marriage: stability. If so that makes even more sense. That name might pop up on the screen of all your friends. The only thing unstable about my switch is its internet connection. Nintendo has rebooted the Wii Balance Board!
"Need more stability?" Patch notes Bad words added: - *instability, My switch's so stable that it actualy stop seing her psychologist claiming he's so stable that he can do it on his own and she agreed!! If I can't get noods on my Switch, what is the point of HAVING a Switch? no, I'm only here for an updated list of bad words. Wouldn't want to risk a world with freedom of speech.
Sarcasm ends here.
the stability, let the systems collapse.
Oh wait, we're talking about the Switch.
In that case, why not, thanks.
They're likely to primarily be banned for use in usernames, since these appear to other players when online. Is there a glossary of banned words?
Unless I'm missing something, I don't see what's so offensive about naming a Mii "JodySummer", like the F-Zero character, and instead it has to appear as "J*dySummer". Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
