Gigantamax Pikachu Can Now Be Caught In Pokémon Sword & Shield

A formerly exclusive Pokémon is now available in Pokémon Sword & Shield, as Gigantamax Pikachu can be encountered in the Wild Area. Pokémon Sword & Shield have several Gigantamax Pokémon that can only be acquired in very specific ways. Gigantamax Meowth was originally only available to early adopters and had to be downloaded through the Mystery Gift menu. In order to acquire an Eevee or Pikachu with a Gigantamax form, the player needed a save file from one of the Pokémon Let's Go games, which would allow them to claim a Pokémon based on the version of the game they owned. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Before now, the only way to acquire a Gigantamax Pikachu or Eevee was through having the save data or through a trade, while the Gigantamax Meowth event is no longer active. It will soon be possible to acquire these Pokémon through other means, starting with Gigantamax Pikachu. According to the official Serebii Twitter page, it's now possible to encounter a Gigantamax Pikachu in the Wild Area through a Max Raid battle. These Pikachu can be encountered until May 18. It will soon be possible to acquire the other Gigantamax Pokémon as well. Gigantamax Eevee can be encountered in the Wild Area from May 19 to May 25, while Gigantamax Meowth can be encountered from May 26 to June 1. The Nintendo Switch has seen an explosion in popularity over the past few months, which means that lots of people have only picked up the system for the first time recently. This means that a lot of people missed out on Gigantamax Meowth and the strategy that lets people quickly earn cash using G-MAX Gold Rush. These new events will now let fans catch a money-making Meowth, as well as helping out the people who aren't interested in purchasing either of the Let's Go games. Gigantamax Pikachu will appear in Max Raids in Pokémon Sword & Shield from now until May 18.
