Still, through the magic of modding, anything is possible. 2001’s GameCube defined Nintendo’s approach to consoles. It was a quirky looking thing, a little barebones when it came to functionality, and somewhat behind the competition in terms of third-party support. At the same time, though, it was home to some rock-solid first-party exclusives, including the legendary Melee and more unique IPs like . Everything about this adorable little purple funbox just screamed Nintendo. Nintendo Switch has been a phenomenal success, but as a ‘portable,’ it’s a darn long way from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in terms of what it has under the hood. This has often proven detrimental when it comes to ports (or the lack thereof), but Nintendo is going to go right ahead and do their Nintendo thing no matter what the naysayers may say. We’ve all heard this many times, and it’ll be interesting to see how the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X stack up once developers really get to grips with all that they’re capable of. In the meantime, you can get the best of both worlds with this stunning GameCube/PC mod.
