Pokémon Which Electric-Type Are You Based On Your Chinese Zodiac

Ever wonder which Electric-type Pokémon you are based on Chinese zodiac signs? Let's find your animal sign when it comes to Electric-type Pokémon. There are a lot of out there, almost 900 now, and that's a staggering number to really even think about. It's a bit difficult to narrow 900 Pokémon down to a measly twelve that the , which is why it's a good idea to narrow down things even further by grouping these Pocket Monsters by type. So, without further ado, here are the 12 Chinese Zodiac Animals best represented by Electric-type Pokémon. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Rooster Pikachu The Icon

Most would assume that Pikachu, the icon of Pokémon, would be represented by the rat, huh? Considering it's the Electric-Mouse Pokémon and all, but that would be too easy to simply pick Pokémon that "looked" like the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. It's a bit more difficult to pick Pokémon that demonstrates the personality traits of each Zodiac. So, Pikachu is the Rooster because he loves being in the spotlight, like in . He's also progressive, adaptable, observant, and courageous. Of course, the mascot for the series relishes in the limelight, it only makes sense.

The Tiger Toxtricity The Rebel

Tigers are known for being little rebels. They're the types that will fight for what's right even if it's against what society thinks. And, there is no electric Pokémon that encapsulates the idea of "rebellion" better than one of the newer kids, Toxtricity! Tocitricty is basically a punk rocker made into a Pokémon and it's one of the fan favorites in the Sword & Shield generation.

The Rat Morpeko Mouse Of Two Moods

People seem to think that the Rat Zodiac only has mostly negative traits. Yes, the Rat is known for its innate greed, but being resourceful and prudent isn't a bad thing! Just take Morpeko for instance. This Pikachu "wanna-be" absolutely hordes snacks and food, but that's simply so it can avoid getting "h-angry" and causing trouble for others. Other than its on-off switch of anger, Morpeko is a pretty strong Pokémon! It's versatile, innately kind (most of the time), and quick on its feet, which are once again traits that perfectly fit the Rat Zodiac.

The Ox Zebstrika The Sturdy

Now, this next choice might grate on a few reader's nerves a bit, since it involves assigning Horse to the Ox Zodiac and not a Horse to the Horse Zodiac, but the traits line up better. Zebstrika is one of the more imposing electric types out there, with slanted eyes, pure black and white colors, and tons of edges in its design. These design aspects give off a feeling of "strength" and "determined" more than they give off anything related to "animated" or "energetic", which are traits customarily associated with the Zodiac Horse. Strength and determination, on the other hand, are pure Ox assets, and it's clear as day now why Zebstrika is an Ox.

The Goat Sheep Ampharos The Kind

Finally, we've landed on a Pokémon who matches the Zodiac animal both visually and personality-wise. The Goat/Sheep Zodiac is one for introverts who love to help others but also can be alone with their thoughts. And, nothing matches that better than the Pokémon evolutionary family modeled after the idea of Electric Sheep. Starting with Mareep, onto Flaafy, then going full bipedal with Ampharos. Ampharos is used as a Lighthouse Keeper a lot of the time, () using the light that comes from its tail to bring Sailors home. But, it also gets quite the rocking appearance with its Mega-Evolution that grants it a full head of hair.

The Rabbit s Plusle & Minun The Friendly Twins

Those born under the year of the Rabbit are a unique breed. They can be seen as pushovers who like to be around others just to hang out. Rabbit-type people are popular, great at avoiding conflict, and are compassionate to everyone around them. And the team that fits this description best is the electrifying red & blue siblings Plusle and Minun. Plusle and Minun are arguably the second most popular Electric Mouse Pokémon behind the end-all-be-all Pikachu and are often used in Double Battles.

The Dragon Zekrom The Literal Electric Generator

Dragon-type Pokémon tend to be . They live in a different world than the rest of us, a world where they can truly be confident in their abilities and personality traits. Dragon Zodiacs are similar and are known for being wise beyond their years and almost Legendary in the way they seem to innately succeed in life. Speaking of Legendary, it only makes sense that a Legendary Pokémon would fall under a Legendary Zodiac like this, which is why Zekrom was picked, who brings destruction onto those who don't lead their lives righteously.

The Snake Rotom Of Many Forms

Snakes have always been mysterious, in any legend or folklore. There is the Snake from Adam and Eve, the World Serpent of Norse Mythos, and even the Legend of the White Snake from Chinese legend. And while , there aren't any electric ones. Snakes are enigmatic and adaptable, it just comes naturally to them. And, one of the most mysterious and adaptable Pokémon out there is Rotom, a ghost who fans still know little about and one that can possess and inhabit many different machines to take on many different traits.

The Horse Luxray The All-Seeing

Luxray is one of the few Pokémon out there based on a lion, and one of the best designs among all the generations. Luxray is a pure electric-type Pokémon introduced in Gen IV that perfectly fits the mold for the Horse Zodiac. Those of the Horse are self-reliant, respectable, energetic, sharp-witted, and love to travel. These all make perfect sense for a Pokémon modeled after the King of the Jungle who travels around living freely. Plus, Horses are known in real-life for their amazing eyesight, and Luxray is also known for eyesight so perfect it can even see through walls!

The Monkey Thundurus The Tyrant

Next up, there's the prankster Zodiac who loves to mess around with people and gets by in life purely by having fun, the Monkey. Typically, these types tend to be pranksters, and funnily enough, there's one specific Electric Pokémon with the Prankster ability, Thundurus. Thundurus is another Legendary Pokémon that is part of the "Forces of Nature". Usually, it is at odds with Landorus (), but when it's on its own it is usually traveling the country dropping lightning bolts on places, and giggling about it.

The Dog Yamper & Boltund The Perfect Puppers

Here's a dog Pokémon for the Dog Zodiac. And no, not Jolteon who is a bit too aggressive for this classification, we're talking about Boltund! Yamper is one of the cutest Pokémon seen in years, and its evolution Boltund is a fantastic Electric Pokémon to add to the repertoire. Those born under the year of the Dog tend to be loyal, diligent, caring, and honest to a fault. They're also energetic, which makes perfect sense for Boltund, considering it can use the electricity stored in its back legs to run for days at a time.

The Pig Arctozolt The Slow

And finally, there's the Pig Zodiac, whose traits don't really match how pigs are commonly represented in media. In most stories, pigs are lazy, selfish, and slobbish, but the Chinese Zodiac Pig describes it as kind, loving, and always hungry in the pursuit of knowledge. Still, these types of people move a bit slow, which is why Arctozol makes a perfect Pig Zodiac Pokémon. Artozolt is a Crossbreed fossil Pokémon that lived its life efficiently back in the day by freezing its own food. But, sadly, it moved so slowly that it eventually just went extinct. Still, this Pokémon seemed to enjoy a very particular type of food/lifestyle, which is oh so charismatic for those born in the Year of the Pig.
