Fortnite Celebration Cup Will Be Exclusively Played On PlayStation 4

Fortnite's next tournament will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and has a few other requirements for participants. via Fortnite Insider Epic has held platform-exclusive tournaments on Fortnite before, but this month's Celebration Cup will be the first held on PlayStation 4. The competitive scene is a lively one. In fact, in 2019, it hit what has arguably been its peak so far in the form of the Fortnite World Cup. Millions of hours watched and millions of dollars given away across the ten qualifying weekends and the tournament weekend itself. While there is no word just yet on when Epic will be staging the second Fortnite World Cup, we do now know when its next official tournament will be taking place. Don't get too excited just yet though, as Fortnite's next tournament will be exclusive to just one platform. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY As well as owning a PS4, players will also need a Fortnite account at level 15 or higher and have two-factor authentication enabled on their Epic account if they want to take part. The Celebration Cup is slated to take place on February 15 and February 16, 2020, for three hours each day and by the end of it, 4000 PS4-playing Fortnite aficionados will have won a cash prize. On the second day of the cup, there will be a cool $1 million up for grabs. The complete prize breakdown can be found by checking out the "Compete" tab in-game. The biggest single prize available will be $3000 for the player who finishes first in the European region. If your Fortnite prowess isn't up to snuff and there's no chance you'll finish in a cash prize place, don't despair as we are not done. Although day two of the cup will be all about the money, there will be regular cosmetic prizes to be won on day one, and it won't require a ranked finish. Anyone who places in the top half will receive a "Take Cover" spray, top 25% finishers will get a "Wild Accent" pickaxe, and finish in the top 5% and you'll get the "Tango" outfit.
