Brawlhalla To Finally Answer The Age Old Debate Of Hellboy Vs Rayman

Brawlhalla is doing a crossover event with Hellboy, bringing characters and a new mode inspired by the movie into the game. Indie fighter added Hellboy to its ranks today. While the giant-fisted demonic entity might fit perfectly among the myths and legends of the game's roster, his inclusion also sets up some weird crossover battles. Ever wonder how Hellboy would fare in a fight against Shovel Knight? No, of course you didn't. But Brawlhalla is making it happen anyway. The decision to add Hellboy to Brawlhalla is, as you might expect, based in the fact that a Hellboy movie just released this week. The movie is getting some... , but that doesn't stop the Hollywood marketing machine. Brawlhalla is even going all-in, throwing in three other Hellboy-based characters, a Hellboy-themed map, and even a new game mode. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY PREVIOUSLY: Brawlhalla has a unique take on copyrighted roster additions like Hellboy. Rather than actually create a new character, Hellboy will be what's called an Epic Crossover Skin. That means that he fights exactly like the Brawlhalla character Cross, because he is Cross. The skin just makes Cross look like Hellboy as well as changing the visual FX of his attacks to better match Hellboy's. The same thing was done to put Shovel Knight in the game. Joining Hellboy as crossover skins will be Nimue, Daimio, and Gruagach. Daily gold will be awarded to help players afford these new additions. A new map, called Apocalypse, will be added to the rotation for 1v1 and 2v2 combat. Topping it all off is a new themed game mode, Horde, that will see players fending off a demon invasion. Super Smash Bros. might still be seen as the ultimate platform fighter, but there's a case to be made for Brawlhalla. The game is on its fourth year and apparently still has the clout to cross over with a major motion picture release. It has an active esports scene and a partnership with Ubisoft. And now it has Hellboy. Does it need Hellboy? Does it really make any sense to have Hellboy? Probably not. But we live in a world where Freddy Krueger and a Predator are in Mortal Kombat. Fighting game guest stars stopped making sense a long time ago.
