Michael Vaughan believes England should improve their batting in order to avoid a whitewash in the Test series against India

Former England captain, Michael Vaughan has said that the England cricket team will suffer a Test series whitewash against the Indian if they continue to perform the same way as they did against Bangladesh in the first Test in Chittagong. "If they perform like they did against Bangladesh, it’ll be 5-0," Vaughan was quoted as saying by The Indian Express. The England team won the first Test against the Bangladeshis by a narrow margin of 22 runs. The team will be touring India next month and are scheduled to play 5 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20s.

Angelo Mathews suffering from multiple leg injuries

Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews claimed that he pulled out of the upcoming Zimbabwe tour because an MRI scan revealed several injuries to his leg. Mathews had suffered a torn calf during the ODIs against Australians earlier this year. "We did an MRI scan, which revealed that I had multiple injuries on the same leg. I had to pull out after the expert medical panel advised me and told SLC not to send me to Zimbabwe because it might jeopardise my chances of playing in South Africa. We are planning to take a closer look at why this is happening. The doctors have advised rest, and the recovery can be earlier than that or more; we will have to play it by ear," Mathews was quoted as saying in ESPNCricinfo.

Shane Watson to captain Sydney Thunder in season 6 of Big Bash

Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has been named as the captain of Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash season 6. Watson will take over from Thunder stalwart Mike Hussey, who retired from playing after leading the club to their maiden championship last season. Hussey is now the club's Director of Cricket. "I'm very excited to be chosen as captain of the Sydney Thunder," said Watson. "I've got big shoes to fill with Mike Hussey doing an incredible job over the past couple of years. Shane Watson believes Australian cricketers will be content with a pay cut if it meant a less demanding schedule

The Australian players have raised concerns regarding too much international cricket lately. While some of the former Aussies have lashed at them for this, Shane Watson feels that the players have every right to express their concern. Watson believed that players would rather consider a pay cut than playing every game of the hectic international schedule. "If it meant there was a bit more life balance playing for Australia, I think whatever is required to actually get that, the players would be open to any of that for sure," he was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz Monday.
