It's been a pleasure bringing the same to you here on Sportskeeda and we can't thank you enough for joining us. There is plenty of cricketing action lined up, however, with a triple-header rounding off the Super 12s of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup tomorrow. Make sure you join us for our coverage of the same on this very platform. For the moment though, this is the duo of Srivathsa Vennelaganti and Sooryanarayanan Sesha signing off. Have a good Sunday tomorrow - see you soon and good night! And now, Ajinkya Rahane collects the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for this season before his teammates join him with a huge roar. The celebrations will surely go long and hard into the night and rightfully so - they've played like true champions have Mumbai and this is the spring to their step that will get them rolling as the domestic season continues. As for Himachal Pradesh, they can be might proud of how they've overcome the more fancied teams and almost sealed the deal in the finale. They are the reigning Vijay Hazare Trophy champs, remember, and with this positive beginning to the season, they will back themselves to defend their title when that tournament gets underway in a week's time from now. Ajinkya Rahane (Mumbai Captain): First of all I just want to say that HP played really well throughout this tournament and they've been doing really well in the last 2-3 years. Good to see a new team coming up in domestic cricket. The emotions were really high. Credit to the boys for holding their nerve. Especially Tanush, the way he bowled and then finished it with the bat. Cricket has changed drastically and all the teams are doing really well in domestic cricket. For us it's all about following the process and not thinking of the result. We went to Ahmedabad, played a couple of practice games there and we've just focused on our processes. Credit to Amol (Muzumdar, the head coach) and the team. The support staff have been working really hard, not just here but also the ones in Mumbai. Giving importance to every individual tournament is needed and not just the ones who played but I thought the guys who didn't play also played a very important role within the team. Rishi Dhawan (Himachal Pradesh Captain): (How proud is he of his team?) They all did a really great job and made my thing easy on the field. Last two-three years they've been performoing well and giving their heart out on the field. (Talk at the halfway mark?) The pressure is always on the chasing team in T20 cricket. So the talk was that whatever we've scored, they've got to score the same. We spoke about giving our best on the field and with the ball. Eden also assists the seamers and that's why we played four seamers. The game went until the last over and I'm really proud of my team and the way we've played. The processes have been right. The coaching staff has been working very hard with the boys and the results are seen on the park. The hard work they have put in behind the scenes are reflecting on the park. (On the 19th over) The choice was between myself and Abhinay. I backed him since he has been bowling really well all tournament and has been my main bowler. He bowled really well today too and one over here or there, it happens. It is a decision you take from within and back yourself. Tanush Kotian is the Player of the Match for his three-fer as well as finishing the game. Time for the presentations... There was a wonderful moment just after the winning runs were scored with the players from both teams having a pleasant conversation in the middle. Almost in the form of a long huddle there - sport and its beauty! The big boys of Indian domestic cricket have finally broken the jinx under Jinx

First ever Syed Mushtaq Ali Title for the domestic giants Mumbai

Sarfaraz Khan and Tanush Kotian's heroic partnership sees them over the line against a valiant HP - Anuj Nitin Prabhu (@APTalksCricket) Tanush Kotian: There was pressure but I was ready with my plans and I wanted to execute it, had the confidence that I will execute them. Sarfaraz gave me confidence that I had the ability to go big. Sarfaraz Khan: We lost in the semis and the quarters before in this tournament and also in the Ranji Trophy final, we did not want to let that happen again. The boys were focussed on winning this. As we have seen in pressure games, the key is to stay there till the end. My plan was to be there till the end and also the five fielders inside the circle at the end helped us. Match summary: Mumbai beat Himachal Pradesh by 3 wickets and clinch the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022-23.

Sarfaraz Khan 36* (31) Tanush Kotian 3/15 (4)
Ekant Sen 37 (29) Vaibhav Arora 3/27 (4)

Oh my word! This should have never gotten that close but it did. And that's a testament to the fighting spirit of Himachal Pradesh, who didn't give up until the very end. But eventually, Sarfaraz Khan and Tanush Kotian have held their nerve to end Mumbai's long-awaited win for a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title. That's another one added to their rather crowded trophy cabinet in domestic cricket!

The early wickets of Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane brought this contest to life despite Himachal Pradesh having just 143 runs to play with. But with Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal finding the fence at will, Mumbai were right in front and were staying on course with the asking rate.

Despite Jaiswal holing out to deep cover and Sarfaraz Khan taking his time, Iyer was calling the shots and was in the mood to seal it himself. Himachal desperately needed a wicket and when Rishi Dhawan turned to Vaibhav Arora, the lanky seamer did not disappoint. He bounced out Iyer before a couple of tight overs shot the asking rate up, giving Arora another opening where he used his height to prize out the wickets of Shivam Dube and Aman Khan.

The pressure was telling as Mumbai were imploding under it. Sarfaraz wasn't able to get a move on himself and once Mayank Dagar removed Shams Mulani, it seemed as though Himachal were in front. But skipper Dhawan took the bold route of entrusting Kanwar Abhinay Singh with the penultimate over. And that's where it flipped around with Sarfaraz flicking a switch and hitting a six and four to bring it down to 6 runs off the final over. Kotian then sealed it in style with a heave over long leg and out came all and sundry from the Mumbai dugout as they stormed onto the park in celebration. Their trophy cabinet is complete! Tanush Kotian is the hero for Mumbai! Oh he was the hero with the ball who wrecked the Himachal batting lineup and now, he has finished it in style with a huge blow over long leg. Mumbai are champions of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022-23 for the first time in their history! 19.3 Rishi Dhawan to Tanush Kotian, SIX! Kotiannnnnnnn! Mumbai win! Dug in short on the stumps, Kotian hooks and the ball flies away over fine-leg's head. As soon as the ball went over the fence, Kotian arms outstretched roars and runs towards his jubilant team-mates who run to celebrate. Mumbai win the SMAT for the first time ever! Priceless dot delivery. 4 needed off 4 now... 19.2 Rishi Dhawan to Tanush Kotian, dug in short outside off, Kotian pulls and misses, Bains with one glove off prevents the bye Two runs taken. One boundary will seal the deal for Mumbai! The men at mid-wicket and deep mid-wicket have been asked to swap ends after that delivery. 19.1 Rishi Dhawan to Tanush Kotian, good length on off, heaved wide of deep mid-wicket, a fumble on the dive and they come back for a second Rishi Dhawan [3.0-0-18-2] to bowl the final over of the tournament And that ought to be the game you'd think! But again, what do we know. Rishi Dhawan trusted Kanwar Abhinay Singh but the young lad was outdone by Sarfaraz Khan who has flicked a switch. Final over coming up - Mumbai require 6 runs to win. 19 0 4 1w 1 1 6 4 Wanna suggest something? Power through the road less
