PRESENTED BY LACEY, Wash. -- Rachel Roeder had a match-high 11 kills with no errors for a .611 kill percentage and three block solos as Western Washington swept Saint Martin's 25-18, 25-21, 25-18, on Thursday in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at Marcus Pavilion on the SMU campus. The Vikings, ranked No.7, improved to 12-1 overall and 5-0 in league action with their fifth consecutive win. The sweep was their 11th of the season. Saint Martin's fell to 5-13 overall and is 1-5 in conference play. Brooke Good led the Saints with nine kills and Kaitlyn Ross contributed eight kills and a match-high 13 digs. "It was a bit of a struggle," WWU coach Diane Flick said. "Winning on the road is hard, but we did a great job of keeping our composure." WWU's Kayla Erickson had 10 kills and a match-best five blocks. Kelsey Moore added nine kills and Emily Boerger had seven. It was the Vikings' 29th consecutive victory against SMU, their last loss coming in 1998. WWU holds a 50-5 series advantage. WWU used a 9-4 run to break open the first game and its biggest lead in the second game was just five points, 19-14. The Vikings got out to a 16-9 lead in game three and maintained that margin in closing out the match.
