Meet You at the 2010 Iowa State Fair

Looking for something new at this year’s State Fair? Stop by the AARP booth in the Varied Industries Building for the latest on our programs, activities and issues, and help us celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Social Security. Iowa AARP volunteers and staff will meet fairgoers each day Aug. 12-22 from 9 am to 9 pm at our information booth, Booth #200, which is located across the aisle from the restrooms on the northwest side of the building.

If you’re visiting the Fair between Aug. 13-15, you won’t want to miss the return of the AARP Magazine Road Show along with the AARP/Walgreen’s Wellness Tour Bus, which will both be set up just outside the Varied Industries Building.

Visitors will enjoy free health screenings valued over $140 along with a free one-year membership to non-members or a one-year extension to those already AARP members. The screenings included cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, bone density, body mass index, and waist circumference screenings. Plus, fairgoers will receive free chair massages along with technology tips and all sorts of handy giveaways.

The Iowa State Fair is a one of a kind event that receives national recognition for being the oldest and largest agricultural exposition in the country, established in 1854. More than a million people from all over the world join us in Des Moines every August to celebrate agriculture, innovation, fun, and entertainment. Don’t miss out on the Iowa State Fair, listed in travel guide as one of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die. Meet AARP at the 2010 Iowa State Fair and have some non-stop fun!
