During an appearance at the Natural History Museum today, the trendsetting mum-of-three stepped out in a head-to-tie high street outfit, starring a pair of cropped trousers Jigsaw. Getty Images Kate arrived at the engagement wearing the khaki culottes layered over a plum jumper, accessorised with coordinating Tod’s heels and a chic quilted Chanel handbag, which is reportedly worth around £3,000. However, it didn’t take long for royal watchers to realise that both her top and trousers were much more affordable finds: Warehouse’s Pointelle High Neck Jumper, which costs just £39, and Jigsaw’s Relaxed Gathered Waist Culottes, which are down to £89 from £130 as part of the store’s ongoing series of seasonal discounts. Getty Images Kate, who is a patron of the Natural History Museum, was at the Kensington venue to visit the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity, and learn about its efforts to champion and protect UK wildlife. Appropriately for the occasion, Kate added final detail to her outfit in the form of Oak Leaf hoop earrings from high-end jewellery brand Asprey’s Woodland Collection. Pointelle High Neck Jumper, £39, Warehouse The look marks the latest in a clear run of amazing outfits from the duchess, who appears to have gone through something of a style evolution in recent months. As part of a recent YOU magazine celebration of her makeover, fashion expert Hannah Betts explained: ‘This new, more up-and-at-’em attitude coincided with the maternity leave of Kate’s long term stylist, Natasha ‘Tash’ Archer, the woman the Queen tasked with making her granddaughter-in-law look more regal back in 2014.
