From ITV’s Vanity Fair to BBC’s hit crime drama Bodyguard – autumn 2018 has already been impressive to say the least, and we’re only just getting started. Getty Images Everyone’s favourite streaming giant, Netflix, has announced a brand new sci-fi adventure series that’s set to entice fans of renowned American drama, Lost. Yep, The I-Land is the latest Netflix Original hot on everyone’s lips and for good reason. The show not only has a star-studded Hollywood cast (though that’s pretty much essential nowadays) but by the sounds of things, a very dark, gripping storyline to get stuck into. Here’s everything you need to know… Getty Images Who are the cast While the full cast has not yet been revealed, Netflix has announced that the key members for The I-Land will be American actresses Kate Bosworth and Natalie Martinez (who recently starred in ABC sci-fi thriller The Crossing, which was cancelled after one season) and Magic Mike star Alex Pettyfer. Bosworth had also been appointed as a producer on the show, while filmmaker Neil LaBute will direct the series. ‘Thank you @netflix ? So excited to be a part of the family!!! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kate Bosworth (@katebosworth) What is it about The I-Land will be a seven-part series that follows 10 people as they wake up isolated on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they even got there. Following this, their only concern is to search for a way back home, but first they must negotiate psychological and physical challenges. Sounds familiar, right? No wonder it is being hailed the new Lost. The I-Land is a totally new series starring @katebosworth and created by filmmaker Neil LaBute about 10 people who wake up on an island with their memories totally wiped. Also, the island is trying to kill them.’ When will it air At the moment, the show is in the pre-production stages so the release date is yet to be confirmed. But fingers crossed it’ll be ready and available to stream early next year!
