We don’t know about you, but we can’t see ourselves going back to the days of excessive eyeshadow, leg warmers or truly gigantic shoulder pads anytime soon. Yet there is one 80s relic that’s surprised everyone by making a chic return to the runway this season – the claw clip. I love the way that something is reintroduced into fashion and we look at it again in a different way.’ ‘Also, you’ve got to remember, lots of girls probably don’t remember what the banana clip is,’ he added. ‘There’s an 18 or 17-year-old girl, they don’t know it has a funny connotation to it. They may just think it’s super cool to do that in their hair.’ View this post on Instagram A post shared by Redken (@redken) Of all of the elements of the 80s that could have inspired the designer, we say that this one is pretty wearable. There’s no word yet on whether the Alexander Wang NYFW clips, complete with embossed logo, will go on sale, but if you’re ready to return to the look already, get that hair slicked back anyway.
