YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity The special baby gift Prince Harry and Meghan have asked for By You Magazine - June 7, 2021 On Sunday 6 June, it was revealed Prince Harry and Meghan had welcomed their baby girl. Their second child, named Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, was born on Friday 4 June at 11.40am. She was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Prince Harry and Meghan made the touching decision to name their daughter after the Queen and the late Princess Diana. Lilibet is the royal family’s nickname for Her Majesty from when she was a child and couldn’t pronounce Elizabeth properly. Her grandfather, King George V, would call her Lilibet as an imitation of her attempts to say her name. But, instead of accepting gifts, Harry and Meghan asked for a very special present to be given to little Lilibet. Royal fans and well wishers were asked to support charities and organisations close to the couple’s hearts, rather than send gifts. Girls Inc ‘inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, through direct service and advocacy’, while Harvest Home ‘transforms the lives of homeless pregnant women and their children by providing housing, support, and programs that equip women to become great mothers.’ Getty Images CAMFED is a pan-African movement with the aim of revolutionising how girls’ education is delivered. The Myna Mahila Foundation works to empower women in India to speak about the issues they are most afraid to discuss aloud due to cultural stigma, such as menstruation. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie on the arrival of baby Lilibet!
