YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Food Aldi has a secret shopping hour where everything is even cheaper By You Magazine - November 26, 2019 If you love a great deal, you’re probably already a regular at your local Aldi. From beauty dupes to festive fizz, the German chain is the affordable gift that keeps on giving – but did you know that there’s apparently a secret hour in store that could make your haul even cheaper? Shoppers on the Latest Deals, Extreme Couponing & Bargains Facebook group have noticed that the branches of Aldi near them reduce certain products by up to half the price, but you need to hit the shops at a particular time. Getty Images The conversation was sparked after shopper Leslie Horton posted a picture of a trolley-full of fresh meat and vegetables bearing Aldi’s trademark red reduced stickers, explaining: ‘Turns out going to Aldi at 8am is not only quiet, but a bargain fest too.’ Other customers then agreed that they’d noticed similar price cuts when they’d visited the supermarket first thing in the morning. Although opening times – and therefore reduction hours – vary from store to store, it seems that the earlier the bird, the more bargains you can bag. ‘8am every morning at Aldi, I grab loads for half price or less!’ another poster who’d taken advantage of the offers added. ‘Never had an issue with any of it, it’s all been delicious.’ A third has also noticed that ‘Aldi starts reducing (50 per cent) their items after 8am’ at a branch near them. Getty Images Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, a spokesperson for Aldi confirmed the deal, which is designed to avoid food waste on products which are about to expire: ‘All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates,’ they detailed. Want to make the most of Aldi’s generosity? Speak to staff at your local store, who should be able to share the best time to pay your next visit – and set your alarm as early as you can stand!
