Resident Evil Village Will Be The Longest RE Engine Game So Far Says Leak 13 August 2020 by Lara Jackson It’s being reported that the next Resident Evil game, RE Village, is set to be the longest modern game in the series to date. Credit: Capcom The news comes from known RE leaker, AestheticGamer on Twitter, so as always, best take this one with a pinch of salt until confirmed. The user, who has correctly predicted a number of RE 8 details in the past, took to Twitter to tell followers that Village will be the longest modern game Capcom has ever made using the series’ RE Engine, meaning it’ll be longer than Resident Evil 7’s 15-18 hours.ADVERT ADVERT “Let’s just say I have an inkling’ about what RE games are in dev right now, I’m only talking about RE8 right now but people know RE4 is also coming up at this point. RE8 will be the longest RE Engine game to date, & without saying too much the other stuff coming up should follow a similar trend.” (2/2) in dev right now, I'm only talking about RE8 right now but people know RE4 is also coming up at this point. RE8 will be the longest RE Engine game to date, & without saying too much the other stuff coming up should follow a similar trend.- AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) August 12, 2020 Hopefully there’s some truth to this, as Resident Evil 3 Remake was sadly lacking in length. Although it does include its online multiplayer counterpart, the actual remake campaign is completable in less than 10 hours (I myself completed it in just five). Credit: Capcom As for the story of Resident Evil Village, we already know some details about what’s coming.ADVERT ADVERT In an interview with Famitsu earlier this summer [via Alex Aniel/Gamespot], producers Tsuyoshi Kanda and Pete Fabiano answered some questions about RE 8 and its place in the timeline. Q4. The trailer says "His story comes to a close." Who is that referring to?A4. We'll let you decide. But know that Village is the sequel to Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, and serves as the conclusion to its story.- Alex Aniel (@cvxfreak) July 1, 2020 According to the duo, the story will bring Ethan’s tale to “a close.” They clarified that “Village is the sequel to Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, and serves as the conclusion to its story.” They added: “Look closely at the trailer; you can see the connections between Ethan’s current situation and what happened in RE7. If you haven’t played RE7, please do so!”ADVERT ADVERT Resident Evil Village is expected to launch in 2021.
