Off-Camera God Of War Easter Egg Has Only Just Been Discovered 6 March 2020 by Lara Jackson If you haven’t played it yet, 2018’s God of War was – and still is – an absolutely iconic PlayStation title that really does need to have a place in your games library. It’s so good in fact, that it’s now 2020 and Easter eggs are still only just being discovered. The spot was picked up by Twitter’s Lance McDonald, a user known for video game boundary-breaks and tech deep-dives, who recently shared a few tests to Twitter. Credit: Santa Monica Studio As you can see in the tweet below, McDonald did an absolutely fantastic job of fully hacking the game’s fixed camera, allowing for a whole new look at one of the best battles in the game: Kratos vs. “The Stranger.”ADVERT ADVERT Honestly, just watching this battle from another angle is magical enough, as it’s one of the best fight scenes in any game ever (don’t come for me). But it gets even better… Good day’s work. God of War (PS4)‘s camera fully hacked. No clipping, ability to start and stop time freely, and works fully during cutscenes. It’s activated by entering special button presses on the map screen. Works great! pic.twitter.com/DaoBEIPOck- Lance McDonald (@manfightdragon) March 5, 2020 During the boundary-breaking experiments, McDonald discovered that “The Stranger” (don’t worry, keeping it spoiler-free here) actually flips off Kratos when off-camera. “So @corybarlog who was responsible for this little easter egg?” McDonald tweeted to the game’s director, Cory Barlog. Nice work, Lance!- cory barlog ? (@corybarlog) March 5, 2020 The hard work of McDonald has revealed even more evidence of just how darn good God of War is. As one impressed Twitter user put it: “The ‘one continuous shot’ thing with God of War’s presentation was already really impressive, but seeing this makes it even moreso. I’m so used to camera breaking stuff showing characters warp around and bend in weird ways, but nope. This game still looks amazing from any angle.” The "one continuous shot" thing with God of War's presentation was already really impressive, but seeing this makes it even moreso.
