The former husband and wife split in 2016 after an extremely toxic and rocky marriage. Two years later, Amber penned an opinion piece for The Washington Post about her experience with domestic violence. While her piece didn't mention Johnny by name, it was widely taken to be about him. Thus, he sued her for defamation. Article continues below advertisement On June 1, the jury found Amber and Johnny both liable for defamation in their lawsuits against each other. However, Johnny was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and five million dollars in punitive damages. Meanwhile, Amber was awarded two million dollars in compensatory damages with zero dollars for punitive damages.
