Functionality: What features does the smart home device have? If it's a smart plug or a smart light, does it have a Home/Away feature for when you travel? Pay attention to your daily routines to see what role your smart home devices can play. Price: Often, the cheapest smart home device is not the best. I had August locks, and have been replacing with Level Locks or Friday Home. The reason is that whilst August is great for a single person home, the integration with HK is terrible and I could never get the locks to work through HK for more than just myself... and that's with the support of August. Level Locks are very discreet as they are inside the door so it doesn't even look like you have a smart lock! 2) Brilliant doesn't work with HK.
