Lamborghini Urus Taking Part In Mysterious All-Road Competition

According to an Autocar report, Lamborghini wants to take its Urus SUV racing in an all-road kind of way. Hot damn. But here's the thing: we don't know where or even when this will happen. Nothing wrong with a good mystery. What we do know is that the $200,000 SUV and its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, rated at 641 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, will use the Bentley Bentayga's also just announced upcoming trip to the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado as a performance benchmark. Lamborghini "Lamborghini welcomes challenges, but whatever we do will be quite different from other brands," said CEO Stefano Domenicali. "We will choose a form of competition intended only for our class of vehicle. Our car has many faces. You can enjoy its beauty, it is very fast on the track, very fast off road and very fast on gravel. We will choose something that combines all of these things." Inside sources further add that Lamborghini will likely make an announcement towards the end of the year regarding the exact location and other related specifics. Why the wait? Because Lamborghini wants to first get its second-ever SUV into customers' driveways. Once the initial product launch is complete, attention will be shifted to the Urus' racing career. It's really not that surprising Lamborghini wants to the Urus to racing, especially since it has a claimed top speed of 190 mph and a 0-62 mph time of 3.6 seconds. It also has an advanced four-wheel drive system for varying terrains. All-road means, of course, on- and off-pavement, and we can't wait to see what Lamborghini has in store here.
