Lollipop Chainsaw remake announced for 2023 5 July 2022 by Richard Breslin The Lollipop Chainsaw remake has been announced, by one of its former publishers of Grasshopper Manufacture. In June, Lollipop Chainsaw celebrated its 10th anniversary when it originally launched in 2012. The 10th-anniversary celebrations also teased that Lollipop Chainsaw is coming back. However, at the time, we didn’t know in what form. The initial tease was made by former CEO of Kadokawa Games, Yoshimi Yasuda, who helped published Lollipop Chainsaw on behalf of Grasshopper Manufacture.ADVERT ADVERT Juliet the Zombie Slayer However, Yasuda has confirmed that the Buffy-inspired zombie slayer is coming back as a remake and it will be published by a new company called Dragami Games. The Lollipop Chainsaw remake will also be one of the first games from the new company. He continued: “We, the original development staff on Lollipop Chainsaw, think of the game as very precious to us, and did not want to leave it in limbo, where players who want to play it cannot.ADVERT ADVERT “As such, we purchased the Lollipop Chainsaw intellectual property from Kadokawa Games and decided to develop a remake. We have already contacted Warner Bros [who published the game outside Asia] about development, and are being supported by them in this endeavour.” Lollipop Chainasaw Remake の発表に関する Producer message をお届けします…!!!Please check Producer message about Lollipop Chainsaw Remake.#lollipopchainsaw#ロリポップチェーンソー pic.twitter.com/ILeLTKNVZ3- 安田善巳 (@yasudaD5) July 5, 2022 Suda51 isn’ t returning Furthermore, Yasuda confirmed that the remake will have a “more realistic approach to the graphics”. Yoshida also revealed that many of the developers that helped create the original game will be working on this remake. Sadly, it seems that Suda51, who was the original creative director won’t be working on the Lollipop Chainsaw remake. Unfortunately, there will also be some elements missing from the original, such as much of its original soundtrack.ADVERT ADVERT “For instance, the original game had 15 licensed songs used in the soundtrack, but it is, unfortunately, difficult for us to implement all of them this time,” Yasuda explained. “As a result, aside from a few licensed tracks, the soundtrack will consist of new music. “Additionally, since we have access to consoles with higher specifications, we will be taking a more realistic approach to the graphics this time.” Regardless of some of its missing soundtrack, the news of this remake will be music to the ears of returning and new fans alike.ADVERT ADVERT Credit: Grasshopper Manufacture The remake arrives next year More so because the original Lollipop Chainsaw was never made backwards compatible for Xbox, nor is it available via the streamable PS3 games on the new PS Plus. Furthermore, there was never a PC release. The Lollipop Chainsaw remake will release sometime in 2023. Are you happy that Juliet Starling is returning? Let us know across our social media channels.
