Shumpert was reportedly arrested for possession of marijuana. After the TSA detected a "green leafy substance" in his bag, Shumpert wasn't allowed to board his Delta flight to California. He claimed that he was on his way to see his daughter in Los Angeles and was later cuffed and arrested. It was also reported that the 2011-12 All-Rookie member had 6.12 ounces of weed in his possession and tested positive for it. Additionally, there were gun components found in his bag, a Glock magazine, and 14 nine millimeter rounds.
