Kanye West' s Ford F-150 Raptor Sells For Big Money

Nov. 30, 2021 7:13 PM ET by Karl Furlong Auctions / 13 Comments The Yeezy effect is powerful. What does it take to break records at an automotive auction? A couple of things will do the trick, it seems. The car itself could simply be an object of irreproachable talent, as is the case with this Porsche 918 Spyder. Or, it could be a rare classic from Italy like this Ferrari 250 GTO that sold for nearly $50 million. But there's another way to get sellers to shell out record-breaking sums of cash at an automotive auction - all you need to do is make sure that the vehicle in question was owned by Kanye West. The rap artist and record producer's fleet of Ford trucks and SUVs were auctioned off for a whisker under $435,000, and one of those trucks shattered records. Musser Bros. Musser Bros. Musser Bros. According to TMZ, the fleet of Fords was from West's ranch in Wyoming which he has also put on the market as he makes the move to Malibu. The fleet included a 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor that sold for $86,900 including a 10% buyer premium, making it the priciest Raptor ever sold. For the record, a new F-150 Raptor retails for just over $64,000. It was also the biggest overall auction for Musser Bros., attracting over 137,000 views and over 800 bids. Other vehicles on the auction block included another 2019 Raptor, a 2018 Raptor, and a 2020 Expedition Limited Stealth 4x4. The least-expensive sale was a 2016 Ford F-350 SRW 4x4 Lariat Crew Cab that sold for just under $40,000, although that excludes the buyer tax. All the vehicles were finished in black. Musser Bros. Musser Bros. Musser Bros. Apparently, West sold the ranch fleet to his Ford dealer in Cody, Wyoming, before the dealership turned to the auction house for the sale. While the trucks in question are entirely practical, West is known for his outlandish vehicle purchases, some of which have been as controversial as the rapper himself. In January, we reported on the stomach-turning news that West purchased five Maybachs for Kim Kardashian for Christmas. Why she required five and not one remains a mystery that we're not especially interested in cracking. While we would've rather spent $86,900 on a fully loaded new Raptor, at least a couple of West fans have something to link them to Yeezy. Musser Bros. Musser Bros. Musser Bros. Musser Bros.
