NanoFlowcell Want To Revolutionize The EV Market With The Quant 40Volt

Following the reveal of the QuantF at last year's Geneva Motor Show, Liechtenstein-based company NanoFlowcell AG has teased its latest creation ahead of its debut at the 2017 Geneva show in March. Called the Quant 40Volt, the electric sports car will benefit from the world's first variable-controllable mobile flow cell that provides a "constant source of electrical energy and all-new low-voltage electric motors providing propulsion of race-car proportions." The Quant 40Volt will run on an electrolyte liquid called 'bio-ION' developed by NanoFlowcell Research Gmbh, and is said to be "non-toxic, non-flammable and environmentally compatible". The best news, however, is that it will be significantly cheaper than traditional gasoline, costing just 10 cents per liter. When running on this technology, the Quant 40Volt will have an impressive driving range of over 620 miles. The specs are equally impressive. NanoFlowcell says the Quant 40Volt will have "sports car performance," provided by six cells arranged in a series, and four new, innovative low-voltage electric motors that generate a combined power output of 760 horsepower. Quant It has lightning fast acceleration too, with a 0-62 mph time of just 2.4 seconds which puts it in Tesla territory, while the top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph. Question is, will the Quant 40Volt enter production? NanoFlowcell has been showing off concept cars, but has yet to manufacture any of them, but it's possible the technology could be licensed to other companies. "We are in close contact with the industry and I can well imagine that the new concept of the nanoFlowcell 48-volt low-voltage drive will be implemented together with an industrial partner in a stand-alone QUANT prototype," a spokesperson commented in an interview with German site Mittelstand Nachrichten.
