Meet The Bureko A Chevy Silverado 6x6 With 1 200 HP

Mar. 21, 2019 9:40 PM ET by Noah Joseph Trucks / 21 Comments Because the world will always need one more six-wheeler. If there's anything we've come to love over recent years, it's a six-wheel-drive truck. So we're glad to bring you any new one that comes across our desk – like this one, from the Czech Republic.
It's not a Skoda, but the Bureko 6x6: a pickup reportedly based on a Chevy Silverado, but rebodied and stretched to accommodate an extra axle. And it looks about as badass as any other six-wheeler we've seen lately, from the Mercedes G63 to the Hennessey VelociRaptor and all those fantastical renderings we've seen of late. Driving six wheels takes no small amount of muscle, which is no doubt why the Bureko packs GM's 6.2-liter V8 that produces 420 horsepower in stock form. But the Czech outfitter fits superchargers and other upgrades to offer much more: 600, 650, 700, 800, or as much as 1,000 horsepower. There's even a bored-out 7.0-liter version in the works said to produce 1,200 hp. The powertrain isn't the only option, either. Buyers can specify a Double Cab or Crew Cab. Properly specified (by which we mean in its biggest form), the Bureko extends as long as 20 feet and 4 inches. That's over a foot longer than the G63 6x6 that kicked off this rather awesome trend. And along with the engine and chassis upgrades, Bureko has also fitted custom bodywork – punctuated by a Jeep-style slated grille that makes it look more like a Hummer. Which isn't that outlandish considering that the H2 was built using the same frame as the Silverado on which this custom creation is also based. But while GM sold the Hummer H2 as either a wagon or a pickup, it never yielded a triple-axled monster like this one. BUREKO
