Mazda CX-30 Discount Continues To Shame Competitor Pricing

The Mazda CX-30 debuted just over a year ago at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and despite its sexy exterior design and premium interior layout and choice of materials, we were a bit puzzled as to why it was needed in the first place. After all, there was already (and still on sale) the highly regarded Mazda CX-3 and CX-5. Given that that CX-30 is also in the compact crossover segment and, like the CX-5, shares a platform with the Mazda3, why is it even necessary? Mazda told us at the time it identified a unique group of buyers, predominantly younger women, who simply didn't want a Mazda3 hatchback. Unfortunately, the CX-30 hit the market at one of the worst times in history because of the coronavirus pandemic. And because of that, Mazda has been and continues to offer one of the best discounts in that particular segment. CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz Cars Direct has discovered the Japanese automaker is continuing to offer 0 percent interest for up to 60 months on all CX-30 trims. In other words, a 5-year loan on a $23,000 CX-30 before taxes and other fees will cost exactly that, $23,000. To compare, a Chevy Trailblazer, one of the CX-30's main rivals, with the same sticker price will end up costing $26,000 for the same loan period with a 5 percent interest rate. Is the Trailblazer currently worth an additional $3,000 over the CX-30? But Mazda isn't done there with the discounts. Current owners could also be eligible for a $1,500 loyalty discount on top of that interest-free financing. As we already know, most automakers have since cut not only the deferred payments but also interest-free financing.
