Customers who decided to opt-out of Super Cruise after their free trial period will still have adaptive cruise control and lane-centering at their disposal, but if they change their minds it probably shouldn't be too difficult to sign up for a subscription. Aside from the dearly departed CT6, the Super Cruise three-year free trial period is also now available on the new Cadillac Escalade, CT4, and CT5.

Cadillac' s First Super Cruise Customers Are Getting A Bonus
Aug. 16, 2020 10:45 AM ET by Jay Traugott Technology / 3 Comments It pays to be an early adapter. When Cadillac first launched its innovative Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver-assist technology in 2018, customers were promised a three-year trial period. Although Super Cruise was only offered on the now-discontinued Cadillac CT6 sedan, the tech will be offered on 22 new GM vehicles by 2023. However, a report last week brought up one vital question that remained unanswered: How much will those early adapters now be forced to pay if they want to keep Super Cruise running? After all, that trial period will begin expiring next month for some. Motor1 has learned that Cadillac has decided to extend the Super Cruise service by one year. Cadillac Cadillac Cadillac Cadillac "As a gesture of appreciation to 2018MY CT6 Super Cruise first-time owners in the U.S., last year we made the decision to provide them with a one-year complimentary extension to their Super Cruise service once their initial three-year plan expires. These owners have been extremely helpful adopters of this technology, actively providing us with suggestions and feedback on their experiences with Super Cruise," said Katie Minter from GM Product and Brand Communications. Obviously, that's good news for CT6 owners, but the big question still remains unanswered: How much will a Super Cruise subscription cost? It's a question GM may not have even finalized yet. Introduced in September 2017, Super Cruise relies on regularly updated high-definition road maps that work in conjunction with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering steering assist systems.Cadillac Cadillac Cadillac There are currently over 200,000 miles of Super Cruise-specific highways in North America and GM promises this figure will continue to increase.
