The differently colored chip has a phone icon on it with the time displayed alongside it to indicate the length of the current call. Another new feature includes a new clock interface for the stock Android app as a part of the overall Material You redesign. The new style of notifications aims to be a less intrusive version of the current Bubble notifications. Currently, Bubbles drop down whenever a notification is sent and float off to the side. However, this design can be intrusive, as it can obscure the display requiring the users to constantly move the Bubble around. Klaus Vedfelt/Getty Images The new feature and redesigned notifications are only available for phones running the Android 12 Beta 3.1, which includes Google Pixel, OnePlus, and Xiaomi phones, to name a few. It is unknown when Google will release Android 12 to all smartphones, however it’s worth noting that the company has a pattern of releasing new operating systems in early September, as seen with the previous iterations of Android 10 and Android 11.
