YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Beauty Edwina Ings-Chambers Meet the season s poshest pout By You Magazine - November 15, 2020 A near-perfect lipstick? I think I’ve found it, with the new Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Lipstick. I had intended this column to be a simple round-up of what I think are the best new lip colours and to give equal column inches to each. But then I tried the new Victoria Beckham Beauty Posh Lipstick and things weren’t so simple. There was suddenly a clear front-runner and proper attention had to be paid. Instagram/Victoria Beckham This is what I consider to be a near-perfect lipstick. Now, I must caveat that by saying that I have lips that are prone to dryness (and, by the way, the only product I’ve found that means I’m not constantly applying lip balm is the Sensai Cellular Performance Total Lip Treatment, which is brilliant but pricey – £75, harrods.com). This bit of Beckham sleekness comes ready to ease that dehydration with a formula that is packed with avocado and coconut oil to moisturise – as well as give shine. And there’s a pomegranate and jojoba complex to boost the skin’s barrier function to help retain moisture. This is a rich, creamy texture that delivers glossy colour; it’s almost a balm/gloss/stick hybrid and looks super-sophisticated when it’s on. Victoria Beckham Beauty I love the pale pinky-coral shade of Pout – the kind of colour that dresses up lips but that you can apply without a mirror. There are nine shades, from a cherry red to deep berry and one called Spice (a sort of mid-ginger) – full marks for tongue-in-cheek humour. Then there’s the packaging, which is some of the most chic in the business with its faux tortoiseshell effect combined with the slimline look of the bullet. Of course, if you like a matte lipstick then this isn’t going to be your first choice. Similarly, if you don’t want your lipstick to budge for hours then you’ll prefer some of the options below. But even so, if you’renconsidering expanding your lipstick wardrobe then I’d urge you to give this one a whirl. It costs £34, and is available from victoriabeckhambeauty.com. My other new picks for lips The gloss Leading make-up artist (and YouTuber) Lisa Eldridge launched her range of lipsticks a few years ago. Now she has introduced Gloss Embrace (£18, lisaeldridge.com), a surprisingly unsticky gloss that gives a sheer layer of colour. My preference is for the salmon-pink Go-Lightly. The matte If you want a vegan lipstick then I’d recommend 3ina The Longwear Lipstick (£14.95, 3ina.com). This Spanish make-up brand may have passed you by but it’s good quality and affordable. This has a matte finish, feels creamy and lasts for up to eight hours. The classic And for those who want to stay under £10 there’s always the trusty Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink liquid lipstick (£9.99, superdrug.com). This gives good colour, doesn’t feel heavy on lips, is not too drying and lasts up to half a day.
