How to Delete an Amazon Account

You'll get rid of your Amazon Prime account by using the Amazon website. If you're not already signed in, you will be directed to do so when you make any selections under Your Account. Near the top of your screen, you'll see a menu bar that shows the member's name, the enrolled plan, the renewal date, and overall membership options. Choose Manage Membership. Select End membership. A screen reminding you of all your Amazon Prime benefits will appear with options to Remind Me Later, Cancel My Benefits, or Keep My Benefits. To continue the cancellation, select Cancel My Benefits. Go to Step 5 in these instructions.To receive a reminder three days prior to your plan's automatic renewal so you can cancel at renewal instead, select Remind Me Later.To stop the cancellation process completely, select Keep My Benefits. You will see yet another option to switch to monthly payments. Select Continue to Cancel if your mind is made up. Amazon will display a new page and once again give you the option to remind you later, change your mind and keep your membership, or to still cancel your Prime subscription. If you wish to cancel, select Cancel membership. If you signed up for a free trial, you won’t be able to sign up for another Prime free trial for at least a year.

How Amazon Prime Refunds Work

Once Amazon charges your credit card at the end of a free trial period, or at the normal subscription renewal time, you have three days to cancel the service and receive a refund. A full refund may be given if the Prime service wasn't used, while partial refunds are applied if you used the service at any time during the three-day cancellation window. Subscriptions such as Prime video or Prime Music won't renew once your Prime account has been canceled. In addition, unlimited Prime storage reverts to Amazon Photos storage, and any data storage rates will be applied against the space taken up by your photos. Canceling Prime does not affect your basic Amazon account. You'll remain an account holder who can use all of the non-Prime Amazon services.
