How to get Amazon Warehouse deals

by Lauren Nash in Shopping Updated 6 July 2022 Share Tweet Not tried Amazon Warehouse yet? Unsure even what it is? It's a great way to buy open-box products or preowned goods for a heavily discounted price. Credit: pio3 – Shutterstock If you (like us) hate paying full price for anything, you should know all about the best Amazon hacks. They will help you save money a fair amount of money, from your small to big purchases. One of the biggest advantages of Amazon Warehouse is that you can save up to 50% on an item if you can put up with a previously open box or some minor scratches.

What is Amazon Warehouse

Amazon Warehouse is a hidden gem, where you can get discounts on products that have previously been opened by another customer, are preowned or have been used. If you're looking for a specific item, check Amazon Warehouse to try to get it for a reduced price. You'll also get some of the same benefits as a general Amazon customer. The items will be packaged by Amazon and many products will still have the option of free delivery. If you have any issues after delivery, Amazon's customer service team will be able to assist.

How does Amazon Warehouse work

Sometimes customers will buy a product and decide they don't like it – in which case they might send it back for a refund. But, if the box has been opened, this is an issue for Amazon. It makes it harder for them to resell the item, even if it's never been used. This is where Amazon Warehouse comes in. There, the item will be put up for sale at a discounted price. This reduces waste and means Amazon can still make a profit from the product. You might find there's a mark on the box, missing instructions or a scratch on the item itself. But, these issues shouldn't affect the use of the item. Check the listing to find out about any faults so you can make an informed decision. If you're unhappy with the product upon arrival, don't worry. You'll still be able to get a refund within 30 days of purchase, under their returns policy.

What are the advantages of Amazon Warehouse

From a money-saving perspective, you can up to 50% off, depending on the item. Faults or missing parts will stop Amazon from selling the item brand new. But if, say, you see a vacuum cleaner from Amazon Warehouse that's got some cosmetic damage, and you know it's likely to get scratched anyway when you use it, it could be a great way to save some cash. Buying from Amazon Warehouse can also be better for the environment. Products from other companies in these conditions may well be sent to landfills. This could even be over something minor if they don't have the facilities to repair or rebox items.

Amazon Warehouse disadvantages

As with everything good in life, Amazon Warehouse does come with some disadvantages. Products bought via Warehouse won't come with a manufacturer's guarantee. So, if they break in a couple of years, there's nothing that can be done as they were bought as refurbished or opened products. Keep this in mind, especially for more expensive items in case you need to replace them in a few years. But don't let this put you off! You'll still have the Amazon returns policy of 30 days if you don't like the item. There's also a 90-day warranty if your Warehouse purchase breaks during that time. If eligible, you'll be covered by their warranty repair and if not, you should just get a standard refund when you send the product back. Also, Amazon Warehouse isn't always the best place to buy gifts as the products could have missing parts or look damaged. Although, it could be worth looking at items in 'Used – Like New' condition. It's likely the damage to the outside of the box will be minor. And if it's not, return it!

What can you buy from Amazon Warehouse

To find Amazon Warehouse products, look on the drop-down search bar on Amazon. You can buy a whole range of items from Amazon Warehouse, from kitchenware to electronics. If, for example, you're after a new games console, look on Warehouse. There's a good chance you'll be able to buy it for a reduced price if the box is damaged or the item has a few small scratches. To give you an idea of the deals, we've previously seen a 28% difference between a brand new Tower Air Fryer and its Amazon Warehouse counterpart. That's with the 'new' version selling at a discounted price. Had it been on sale at full price, there would be a price difference of 38%. What condition will the items be in

Amazon has a four-point list where they categorise all Warehouse returns for resale: Used – Like New: Items in this category are in perfect working condition. Their packaging may be a little damaged but the quality of the item is unaffected. All accessories are included in the box. Used – Very Good: This item will still be in great working order. It may have been used very lightly but will function perfectly fine. There might be slight cosmetic imperfections to the item, and its packaging could also be damaged. It may be missing accessories but, if so, this will be stated in the item's description. Used – Good: These items will still be fully functional. However, they might have some more visible damage to the outside, such as minor scratches. The item's packaging may be damaged or it could be repackaged. It's likely that it will be missing accessories (it will tell you if so) which may impact its use. But, you should be able to get these accessories fairly cheaply from sites like eBay or Amazon. Used – Acceptable: Items in this category will likely have visible signs of use (and potential scratches) but still serve their main purpose. These visible signs of use could include dents, scratches or worn-out edges. The packaging might be damaged or it may be repackaged. Again, as above, accessories may be missing but can easily be purchased online. The item's description will state if this is the case. Not happy with the condition of your item? You can either return it within 30 days for a full refund, or Amazon Warehouse will offer a replacement item in the same listing condition if they have one available. There are loads of ways to make money on Amazon – even without selling anything on there.
