LBC listener sends ' what she can' to man too poor to eat

Evan BartlettDec 10, 2014 Just two days after LBC Radio received a distressing phone call from a man who said he could barely afford to eat, another listener has sent in money for him to buy food. Presenter James O'Brien tweeted a picture of the note - from a woman only known as Emma - which accompanied two 50p coins and a stamp. The note reads: Dear James O'Brien, I heard the broadcast on the radio re the man on benefits. I've sent what I can + included a stamp. Please forward it on. Emma Mike, 35, called in to talk to Mr O'Brien about his situation on Monday, saying that since he was laid off at work he sometimes lives on a tin of spaghetti or beans a day and, with clear emotion in his voice, debunking many of the myths that surround "benefits Britain".
