Guy Shares What It’ s Like Living With 27 Moms And 150 Siblings Interview

Konstancija Gasaitytė
BoredPanda staff Different religions and profound beliefs that are not that common if not fascinate people, then at least awaken their curiosity and bring a lot of questions to the table. One of these religions is Mormonism. And of course, a lot of unknown leaves room for interpretation. Even though Mormonism has a lot of the same traditions as Christianity, there are still some features that distinguish it from other religious groups. One of these features is polygamy. Polygamy, or being married to multiple partners, is not a common phenomenon. In fact, this topic raises a lot of questions and leads to serious discussions on human rights. Despite this, there are people who decide to follow this religion and to lead a polygamist lifestyle, which only makes it more interesting to find out how they manage to live a life entirely devoted to their faith and family that is as large as the whole community. One of those examples is TikToker @kayezer0, an ex-Mormon who decided to share his experience of growing up in a polygamous family with 150 siblings. More Info: TikTok

Murray Blackmore shared what it was like growing up in a polygamous family with one dad 27 moms and 150 siblings

Image credits: kayezer0 Murray Blackmore, better known as Kaye Zero to TikTok users, gained a lot of attention after he shared a video where he stated that he grew up with one dad, 27 moms, and 150 siblings. Soon people had more questions for Murray, who gladly answered them in these short TikTok videos. As it turned out, his family are Mormons who lead a polygamist lifestyle. In one of the videos, he shared that he is a middle child and explained in more detail what it was like to grow up with this many kids in the family, from kids being named according to the system that their parents came up with to everyday logistics that had to be followed to make sure that everyone was taken care of.

His parents announced that they re expecting another kid and it s hard to tell if they re not planning on having more

Image credits: kayezer0 In one of his recent videos, Murray shared that the parents are expecting another kid, which means that there will be 151 siblings or even more, as with this many wives, this could be not the end of it.

Murray s parents came up with a naming strategy by giving names that start with the same letter to kids that were born the same year

The TikToker never questioned the fact that he has such a big family

Image credits: kayezer0 Bored Panda contacted the TikToker and also asked him few questions. Now Murray is an ex-Mormon. Having in mind that usually, such tight communities take it really hard when someone decides to leave, we were curious to find out why he decided to stop following the religion and how his family have taken it. He stated: "Growing up there was always a piece of me that never really connected to the beliefs of Mormonism. I stayed a part of the church to feel like I belonged with my family. It wasn't until I entered adulthood that I decided it just wasn't right for me. At first it was hard to tell my family, but over time, it became easier."

He answered some questions posed by people online and showed some insights of living together with so many people

Image credits: kayezer0 For those who are not the only child in their family, do you remember ever fighting for attention from your parents? Can you imagine what it's like when you have this many siblings? Murray told us that his father has 150 children and his mother-10. He is the middle child in both cases. "As much as I wanted attention from my parents, they just couldn't give it to me. It's impossible to give each child equal attention when there are so many. The attention I did get was from my siblings and I am very grateful to have had many role models in my life." According to Murray, having siblings is one of the biggest advantages of having a large family. When you have this many brothers and sisters, you never really feel lonely as you always have someone to interact with. Image credits: kayezer0 The TikToker has made multiple videos about his family, answering many questions that people have for him. The video where he explains the whole family situation got 7.3M views and the video of him announcing that there is another kid on the way got 6.8M views. The videos are full of various comments of people who are curious to find out more. Bored Panda asked Murray how people react when they find out that he's from such a large family. He admitted that at first people are shocked, but then they tend to choose one of the two ways: "they either think it's interesting and want to learn more about it or they contribute to the slander that's been a 'shadow' over my family." Polygamy is a very controversial topic to this day. The practice of polygamy in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) was banned in 1890. However, fundamentalist Mormons still choose to have more than one spouse. Since it is illegal in most countries, they usually solve this problem by legally marrying one woman and having other women as their "spiritual wives." The issue of polygamy is still a sensitive topic for Mormons and a cause for debate among them and the public. What are your thoughts on this situation? (manufacturing waste vs. household waste) BUT 1. ) what consumer (even Gen Z) will want to pay more for systemic change? Part of the reason that there is such a mess is that it's cheap (and dirty) and 2.) even if this could be put into legislature- so many big lobby groups will uphold the status quo for the "system" in place in order to make money. Capitalism is built for the most profit at the cheapest cost - and I don't think this is very easily compatible with environmental solutions. 2 2points reply ????? ????? Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago This comment has been deleted. -1 -1point reply Zophra Zophra Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago (edited) Not seeing this in USA. I teach teenagers in a very progressive state. Not seeing this at all on a large scale with youth. I agree how we are living is not sustainable in the long run. but I think it will unfortunately hurt poorer countries first. (we need more resources - we'll take yours. We need a place to put our plastic trash and biohazardous waste- your country will do since we can pay a pittance since your country has many needs). Thus, I think we have to wait until the cost of being sustainable is cheaper than the cost of polluting manufacturing/consumerism. For example I don't think the waterways will be clean until the price of bottled water increases and we lack potable water. We won't move substantially to electric cars while gas is cheaper. Please note these are my opinions and I'm not particularly knowledgeable this area, but your views sadly seem too optimistic. 1 1point reply ????? ????? All religions are not cults in the current popular use of the word. Since currently the term or word cult is applied to an organization which makes it impossible to leave the group while still maintaining positive relationships with those in the cult (among other negative impacts such as fear based theology, strict often unreasonable demands, isolation from outsiders, stripping of monies, gaslighting, physical and/or sexual abuses, grooming etc (think Scientology, Jim Jones, Branch Dividians ). Because thee is much polygamy in the OT... even the NT says that church leaders are to have one wife - meaning others in the church might have more... 3 3points reply The sword The sword Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 5 months ago (edited) Well, if you put it that way... 0 0points reply Reynard Reynard Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago Then why are there seemingly endless sects within Christianity? There are because there are countless interpretations of what scripture says. If it was 100% clear-cut and obvious what it means to be a Christian, there would be only one sect. There isn't, therefore the fallacy. 0 0points reply Grumble O'Pug Grumble O'Pug Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago Horse shįt -3 -3points reply Wendy Wendy Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago This comment is hidden. The more humans the more destruction of the planet. You can't just disregard fact and truth bc you want something. That's not how facts and truth work. It's been scientifically proven. Yes its the rich that cause the most destruction but how can actually justify one man having 150 children? Cmon it's not godly or good for the environment at all especially if they are meat eaters. Even if what you say is true, how many people are actually having a positive impact on the earth? Thus, People "can" but are they really not generating waste? Living sustainably? Part of a positive solution? I think not. 4 4points reply ????? ????? (manufacturing waste vs. household waste) BUT 1. ) what consumer (even Gen Z) will want to pay more for systemic change? Part of the reason that there is such a mess is that it's cheap (and dirty) and 2.) even if this could be put into legislature- so many big lobby groups will uphold the status quo for the "system" in place in order to make money. Capitalism is built for the most profit at the cheapest cost - and I don't think this is very easily compatible with environmental solutions. 2 2points reply ????? ????? ????? Yes a 20-25% of Latter-Day Saints did practice polygamy including leaders in the 1800s. However, Mormons discontinued that practice in 1890. Cults like the one this article speaks of broke off at that time. Polygamy is still practiced today in Africa. Polygamists cannot join The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints or Mormons.. Including Mormons, Catholics etc. 6 6points reply Mazer Mazer Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago Qjt - all religions are cults in the historical use of the word. Language is a living thing. Word meanings change, like the word f*g, once used as a slang term for cigarettes now a derogatory word slung at nearly all males to denote weakness, differences or sexual orientation. 2 2points reply Eric S.
