They were so creeped out, they finally pulled over in a busy parking lot and started yelling at him. He walked over to them and said "Hang on. Calm down." And he reached up on top of their car and pulled down one of the two coffees they had left up on the roof at their last stop. He said "you're lucky they stayed upright." They apologized and he smiled, got back in his car, waved at them and left. Here s a transcript of it
Hamblin's take on harassment received support from others who have also fallen victim to it. Kathy Griffin, Rex Chapman, ESPN's Jenna Laine, Dallas reporter Lynnanne Nguyen, Lubbock reporter Blair Sabol, and Andrew Baglini, meteorologist for CBS WIVB in Buffalo, NY, were among those voicing sympathy. Sadly, this is what the bigger picture looks like. A 2018 online survey conduced by a nonprofit called Stop Street Harassment found that 81 percent of women and 43 percent of men had experienced some form of sexual harassment during their lifetime. "Sexual harassment until more recently has been viewed as part and parcel of what people experienced," Michele Decker, director of the women's health and rights program at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, told NPR. "It's often been dismissed because it's considered not as egregious as sexual assault or rape."As the clip started making headlines Hamblin shared her thoughts on the situation

In a now-deleted tweet, he reacted to Hamblin's thread, apologizing: "I can say is it hurts to see this. I'm sorry I stood there while you have to hear that. This isn't the first time you have heard this. I would say more like the 50th. I know it's easy for me to say but it's only words." "Those 'only words' were hurtful, as we saw when you zoomed in on her pained reaction," Nichole Perkins, writer and host of the podcast This Is Good for You, replied to Barstow. "You could've asked the men to step away but then they would've focused on you, right? Best to let her shoulder the burden on her own, right? Do better. Don't wait for it [to] escalate beyond words."People have been really appalled by what they ve seen

My point was that not every guy is a horrible monster ready to pounce. I believe most guys try to be nice and kind, some are just uneducated as to how that's supposed to go. When I was 18, I was driving my cousin and 3 friends to a party down Hwy 99 in Tacoma. These guys kept following us. I tried to lose them because it was really creepy. Then my cousin saw that one of the guys had a gun and was waving towards us. I slammed on the brakes and made them whiz past us as I made a hard turn right. A guy in a work van pulled in behind us and asked if we were alright. He saw everything happen and got the license plate of the guys car to report it to the police. As much as those guys scared us, I was very relieved at our work van hero. I think one of my friends even got his phone number. -17 -17points reply Nikki Sevven Nikki Sevven Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago Of course not every guy is a horrible monster. But we have to behave as if they ARE...it's not like the jerks wear labels. I've been surprised by the aggression of more than one "nice guy" who was polite and well-spoken...until he wasn't. 15 15points reply K Witmer K Witmer Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago Carol how the F is anyone supposed to know that?? It only takes one man to rape and murder you ffs. Should I have asked the man that said sexual things to me if he was a good guy? Is that what you're telling me? Wtf is wrong w you?? You don't think we don't know not all men?? Which men carol?? Which strangers that are men are good carol? Please enlighten me so I can tell my teenage daughter which ones are good that way she can pull over in a parking lot alone w them. Do they have a mark on their face that I don't know about? 4 4points reply Carol Emory Carol Emory Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago This comment is hidden. I'm sorry you were dealing with a crazy person, but there are chivalrous people out there trying to do the right thing sometimes. -25 -25points reply Abhinc Abhinc Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago (edited) scaring them for a cup of coffee was really worth it i guess ?? that story is funny but unfortunately to me it still kinda shows the opposite of what you wanted to say. if women get naturally and automatically scared when they meet a man that's because there is something extremely wrong. 22 22points reply Cassie Cassie Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago It would have been far kinder of him not to scare them. A cup of coffee can easily be replaced. Your sense of security, not so easy. 15 15points reply Lauren Caswell Lauren Caswell Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago It is a kindness he was doing to try to save their coffees. However, following for miles, and into parking lot, although thoughtful it clearly freaked these ppl, as it would most, because going miles over a strangers coffee seems just so unlikely that it's not the most likely assumption ppl would make. He drove next to me down a two lane highway for 25 mins before I turned off an exit he couldn't get down. He was yelling something the whole way. All I could think of is what if he pulls a gun all bc I wouldn't say yes to him taking me out. 25 25points reply Bacony Cakes Bacony Cakes Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 1 year ago wouldn't it be funny if you pit maneuverered him into a tree 8 8points reply Load More Replies...
