I say there are questions that need to be asked, and then there are questions that nobody asked, but it's nice there are discussions around it. TikToker @ShowerThoughtsWMike pointed out that people often forget that there was once a time when glasses weren't a thing, which potentially explains many historical myths and legends. And this raises a good question-what is a myth that ended up being a result of poor eyesight? While we can't say for sure, the internet sure as hell tried to speculate on the question, giving rise to a pretty fun Twitter thread. Image Credits: ShowerThoughtsWMike Check out some of the best, weirdest, and most thought-provoking myths people pointed out in the curated list below, and while you're at it, why not vote, comment, and suggest your own myths that could've been due to someone sucking at using their visual organs. I was looking up at it and thinking to myself that I’d probably hide if I saw something that big coming towards me, when a woman next to me says “Imagine that thing flying over you and taking a dump..” I actually imagined that for a couple of seconds and then cracked up laughing. I think I said you’d probably want to make sure you could swim.. 29 29points reply View more comments Anyone can write on Bored Panda. Start writing! Follow Bored Panda on Google News! Šimon Špaček Šimon Špaček Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 12 months ago Good point, but don't forget that most people are not born with really poor eyesight. Many people get blurry sight in their 40's or 50's, which used to be grandparent age back in these days (yup, even 30 years old could be grandparents in some places and eras, but in 40 it was more common, not to talk about 50). And you do not have to have really bad, 1 or 1,5 diopters is enough to get things mixed and you can still live with it without too many problems. 2 2points reply Load More Comments POST BlackPearltheSeaWing/NightWing BlackPearltheSeaWing/NightWing Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 12 months ago Stop ruINING ALL THR MAGICAL THINGS I BELIEVED IN, OKAY? I was looking up at it and thinking to myself that I’d probably hide if I saw something that big coming towards me, when a woman next to me says “Imagine that thing flying over you and taking a dump..” I actually imagined that for a couple of seconds and then cracked up laughing. I think I said you’d probably want to make sure you could swim.. 29 29points reply View more comments Anyone can write on Bored Panda. Start writing! Follow Bored Panda on Google News! They attacked in long line, they wore scale armour and they used to set the village on fire to cause havoc. Superstition people wouldn't talk about "Celts", because they didn't want to call them somehow, so they talked about "giant snake setting everything on fire" and after few generations of spoken passing you have dragons.
