As you know, there is the famous "Darwin Award", which is awarded to people for the most stupid and reckless exclusion of themselves from the evolutionary chain of mankind. It is quite possible that it is worth establishing an award for the most stupid reason to break off relations, and then the heroine of our today's story will definitely be among the nominees. Tell me, have you ever parted ways with your significant other because of a pastry you ate? And if you ate a lot of this pastry? What if it was supposed to be sent the next morning to a customer who had already paid about $1,000 for an order? As you can see, with each new condition, the reason becomes more and more significant… This story was first shared on the TIFU Reddit community, where it racked up around 49.3K upvotes and 5.2K comments. Perhaps the Original Poster should write a screenplay on it, and someday Hollywood will buy the film rights, making him rich – but so far the author has only become a thousand dollars poorer. Ehm. Charge of miscarriage sounds severely dystopian, is that already law now in the US? 65 65points reply Angela Turrall Angela Turrall Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 3 months ago (edited) Just did a bit of research and sadly, yes it's a real thing, you can be reported and jailed for miscarriage. There's multiple examples of people being reported for suspected abortions (whether true or false), and even some for natural miscarriage where someone just suspected foul play of some sort. Plus, stillbirth where the mother was suspected of taking drugs during the pregnancy so the hospital reporter her for 'murdering' her baby when it was stillborn (1 month premature). Bloody hell. To that person who started a reddit page to complain because of all the 'US bashing' here on Bored Panda, this is the sort of misogynist, dystopian b******t you should be raging against in your country, not stupid s**t posts. 82 82points reply Load More Replies... That's how we can have more Senate seats in those states and that is how we can have the majority of the votes needed to, A) codify abortion rights; B) have actual gun control laws for all states, as well as C) maintain voting rights (Tennessee recently made it a felony to be homeless and felons can’t vote for a minimum of several years, and it is both difficult to get a job or an apartment with a felony on the record) -1 -1point reply Blue Blue Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 3 months ago omfg what century is this??!!!!!! 4 4points reply RafCo (he/him) RafCo (he/him) Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 3 months ago Fyi, this isn't an American problem alone. Or how about if the foetus has serious birth defects that could kill them and / or the mother? Or the foetus dies in the womb for no reason other than it wasn't viable, the body doesn't expel the foetus itself, and the mother it at risk of death if the foetus isn't removed? Women are not in control of their own bodies in some states, and we want repubs out of our ladybits. I live in CA. Our Gov. is doing great things for us, including abortion rights, making our own insulin to drive cost down, and trying to get the houseless problem reduced. If I were living in one of the red states, I'd be insane with white men telling women what they can and can't do. Some moron recently said that the fetus is no part of the woman and is separate from her. Obviously, he's never heard of the umbilical cord. (If they exist at all; I'm getting a strong "fictional" vibe from this story.) When my sister got married, they weren't able to have the cake that she ordered (due to a flood at the bakery, rather than a greedy girlfriend). Obviously it wasn't ideal, but the groom's mother and sister went to the grocery store and bought whatever ready-made cake they had, and the people at the venue improvised a way to display it so that it looked reasonably fancy, and they are still married today, with a firstborn child who recently turned 15, so clearly the cake situation didn't do them any real harm. I read abotu one case where a pregnant woman was charged after her husband shot her in the belly. Why? Because she had gotten into a fight with him, which endangered the baby. When my sister got married, they weren't able to have the cake that she ordered (due to a flood at the bakery, rather than a greedy girlfriend). Baker Finds Out That His Girlfriend And 14 Of Her Friends Ate $1000 Worth Of Pastries His Team Made Threatens To Take Legal Action
Oleg Tarasenko andSaulė Tolstych
More info: Reddit
The Original Poster works at a family bakery and lives with his girlfriend
Image source: Sarah Stierch (not the actual photo) So, the OP works at his family bakery, which is very close to his house, where his girlfriend also lives. Most recently, she told him that she was pregnant, quite surprising the man – after all, they always used condoms and birth control. However, this, of course, was not the reason for the end in relations. Image source: 098765439About a month ago the woman told him that she s pregnant
As the OP himself admits, he used to be quite indignant that his girlfriend usually does nothing while he pays for the house and so on, but the pregnancy became a perfect excuse for her. However, the incident with pastry was the last straw for the baker… Image source: 098765439The OP and his team made two big pastry orders which in total cost around $1 000
So, the OP received two large orders for pastries for two weddings, and for a whole week, he and his team worked on these orders. Each order had from 75 to 100 items, so it was a lot of work. In the end, on the eve of delivery day, everything was ready, and the OP received payment of about a thousand dollars. Image source: 098765439When the OP came into the bakery he found out that almost everything had been eaten by his GF and her 14 friends
As it turned out later, in the evening of the same day, his GF had a party with her 14 friends. When everyone was hungry, she offered to go to the bakery and get something there. As a result, when the OP came to check on the orders, he was horrified to find a whole group of people there, and both orders were almost completely eaten. Image source: 098765439 The OP was, of course, furious, and his GF stated that these were just pregnancy cravings. When the man reasonably asked if the rest of her girlfriends had cravings as well, he got no answer. As a result, the OP kicked everyone out of the bakery, and he had no choice but to return the customers their money. Image source: 098765439The OP discovered that the woman lied to him about her pregnancy as she was afraid that he would leave her otherwise
The OP could not stand it and called the police. In the course of further conversation, when the OP threatened the woman with a paternity test, she confessed that she was not actually pregnant at all, and made it up simply because she was afraid that he would leave her otherwise. Image source: Paula Satijn (not the actual photo) In general, everything ended in a breakup, and our hero was also going to sue the unlucky pastry lover and all of her 14 friends in order to compensate for damages in the amount of $1K. However, no one will compensate the OP for good relations with clients who lost their long-ordered sweets right on their wedding day…Commenters told the OP that he did everything right as the woman just sabotaged his livelihood
Most of the people in the comments supported the OP massively, saying that he did everything right – both in terms of ending the relationship and calling the cops. But the most offensive, as commenters correctly point out, is that the woman simply sabotaged his livelihood. Some people also pointed out that the OP probably shouldn't have given his GF the keys to the bakery. If she took one or two cookies from his orders more than once, then it was to be expected that sooner or later, something like this would happen. In any case, people are glad for the OP that he drew the right conclusions for himself. Image source: 098765439 Probably you too have experienced something similar – then we will be glad to hear your own story. In any case, feel free to write what you think about this tale… and to whom you would give the award for the most stupid way to end a relationship. Anyone can write on Bored Panda. Start writing! Medically speaking, there's little difference between a miscarriage and an abortion. Many countries that outlaw abortion also end up sentencing women to prison for having miscarriages, if there is suspicion that it was an abortion. It's impossible to prove either way. In El Salvador, women have spent decades in prison for miscarriages. The United States will make strides here though, as some states are passing laws to make abortion punishable by death. It is possible in a few years time there will be women executed for having miscarriages in the name of "pro-life". -3 -3points reply Angela Turrall Angela Turrall Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 3 months ago (edited) RafCo - It's not only an American problem, and I've mentioned El Salvadore in another comment. Please tell me you don't actually know what that phrase actually means, because you're a psychopath if you do and really think it's an improvement that the women will be put to death. 2 2points reply Mary Loftus Mary Loftus Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 3 months ago This comment is hidden. How about you want kids but with a partner you choose and who you mutually agree to do so with, so stop your birth control measures. But then you get raped and that's the person you get pregnant by. Or how about if the foetus has serious birth defects that could kill them and / or the mother? Or the foetus dies in the womb for no reason other than it wasn't viable, the body doesn't expel the foetus itself, and the mother it at risk of death if the foetus isn't removed? Abortion will still be illegal in all of these circumstances in any state or country that deem it. 3 3points reply RafCo (he/him) RafCo (he/him) Community Member • points posts comments upvotes FollowUnfollow 3 months ago Sterilization is fairly extreme, and very expensive. But it's not illegal to have an abortion in MANY countries, that's just spin. And you think making abortion (and miscarriages classified as abortion, punishable by death is a 'great stride'?
