Elden Ring How to Fix Screen Tearing

Throughout their adventures, they’ll be faced with plenty of difficult challenges which may break your will to move forward, but will feel so rewarding to finally complete. One challenge that players shouldn’t have to face yet are on PC is screen tearing, which can occur when your monitor’s refresh rate and the game’s frame rate are out of sync. While some may consider this an easy fix, it’s more complicated than you might think when it comes to this game. If you’re having these troubles, no need to worry. In this guide, we’ll explain how to fix screen tearing in Elden Ring! How to Fix Screen Tearing in Elden Ring
If you’re savvy enough with computers, your first instinct may be to turn on VSync or Nvidia’s GSync capabilities, but unlike most games, this doesn’t work. This is due to a current bug with Elden Ring that negates the effects of either of these settings entirely, doing nothing more than limiting your frame rate to your monitor’s refresh rate for VSync. Instead, what many players have found works is to turn VSync on globally (in all games you play) through your graphics card’s respective software. If you’re not aware of how to do this and don’t feel super confident hunting for it yourself, no need to worry. We’ve got you covered. First of all, you’ll want to know which brand of graphics card you have. This can be done by going to the Task Manager, selecting Performance, and clicking on GPU. If it displays an AMD graphics card, it’s AMD, and if it’s NVIDIA, then naturally it’s NVIDIA. Once you know that, here’s how to do it on your respective graphics card manufacturer’s software: NVIDIA
Right-click your desktop and open up NVIDIA Control Panel Select Manage 3D Settings under the 3D Settings menu Go to the Global Settings tab and scroll down to Vertical sync Set the option to Use the 3D application setting AMD
Search up AMD Radeon Software in your desktop’s search bar and open it Select the settings cogwheel, located in the top-right of the program Select the Graphics tab and scroll down to Wait for Vertical Refresh Set this to Off, Unless Application Specifies Applying either of these methods should eliminate screen tearing in Elden Ring on PC. If you’re still finding yourself running into this issue, then let us know and we’ll try and find you additional solutions. Related:
