‘ The Last O G ’ Canceled After Four Seasons

It was inevitable, considering the plan by Warner Bros. Discovery to slowly get rid of scripted programs. Tracy Morgan stars as Tray Barker, an ex-con who returns to Brooklyn after 15 years behind bars. Tiffany Haddish played Shay, Barker’s ex-girlfriend. Jordan Peele and John Carcieri created the TBS scripted series. Dante Hoagland, Taylor Mosby, Allen Maldonado, and Cedric the Entertainer also starred in the now-canceled The Last O.G. The series got good reviews for its first season premiere in 2018. It was originally developed for FX but has moved to TBS. It’s the latest victim of the parent company’s plan to save money and drive more viewership to its subsidiaries. Tracy Morgan will have to find a new series on another network that still believes in developing scripted comedies. This is the End of His Series but Not the End of Tracy Morgan
The Last O.G. was the first series Tracy Morgan starred in since his fatal 2014 car accident. The TBS scripted series had a new showrunner every season, from Owen Smith to Keenen Ivory Wayans. The Last O.G. may be canceled, but Tracy Morgan is not. He is still a comedy favorite from his breakthrough on Saturday Night Live to his role on 30 Rock. The scripted comedy series genre is not dead despite what Warner Bros. Discovery says. The Emmy-nominated actor will find a home in another series on another network. The TBS scripted series The Last O.G. is the end of an era of comedy for that network, but not for all networks. Along with his work on comedy series, Tracy Morgan has also starred in the films Death at a Funeral, Half Baked, Coming 2 America, and Are We There Yet?.
