New Hellpoint DLC And Next-Gen Console Release Announced

Hellpoint is a soulslike, sci-fi action RPG that takes place onboard a cursed space station called Irid Novo. Hellpoint tasks players with navigating the station and using a variety of weapons to battle ancient gods. The premise of the base game is already bizarre, and now players can look forward to even more content. Today, tinyBuild and Cradle Games announced that a new Hellpoint DLC, Blue Sun, will arrive in July alongside the game’s next-gen console release. Blue Sun and the release of Hellpoint on PS5 and Xbox Series mark a couple of firsts for the game. Upon the July 12 release, Blue Sun will be Hellpoint‘s first expansion. Additionally, July 12th may be the first opportunity some gamers have to play Hellpoint at all. As today’s press release explains, next-gen console owners have been out of luck thus far. “For the first time outside of a high-end PC, players will be able to take in the sights and sounds of the cursed space station of Irid Novo in pin-sharp 4k, running at a silky smooth 60fps on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. Loading times are also drastically decreased.” What Will the New Hellpoint DLC Include
Today’s press release didn’t reveal much about what players can expect from Blue Sun. “In this new adventure, the Spawn will delve into strange, never-before-seen locations within Irid Novo, behold the influence of the cosmic gods and discover the true cause of the Merge cataclysm.” Fortunately, we can get a clearer picture from the DLC’s Steam page. According to that page, Blue Sun takes place in a parallel dimension. “Travel to the Blue Sun parallel dimension to experience a new layer of story that reveals the one true cause of the Merge cataclysm.” Blue Sun will feature three new areas, the ability to dual-wield weapons, and a “contract” system. That’s all we know, for now, so we can only speculate between now and July 12th. Still, this is something exciting to look forward to for Hellpoint fans.
