New Alien Series Announced by Marvel
Posted By: Joshua Henryon: May 20, 2022In: Comics, NewsTags: Alien, Marvel ComicsNo Comments Print Email Marvel announced a new Alien series that will explore the mythology of the Xenomorph. It will also explore how the Xenomorph may be the key to humanity’s survival. The series comes from writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson. Plus, it will feature artwork from rising artist Julius Ohta. It is a must-read for longtime fans of the franchise. However, new fans can easily jump into the universe through this series. What is This New Alien Series About
This new Alien epic will kick off with Alien #1. It follows a small synth colony that is secretly settled on a backwater moon. However, their peace is soon disrupted when a company of United System soldiers arrives. They come seeking help obtaining a biotech from a hostile planet. This tech is potentially the key to saving humanity. Of course, the synths must decide whether or not they can trust the soldier. Plus, they must decide if the peace between man and machine is worth the risk of betrayal. This first issue sets up a series that puts the survival of humanity in the hands of machines. Not to mention the inevitable Xenomorphs likely hanging out on this hostile planet. This new Alien series is setting up to be like nothing else before. What Do the Creators Have to Say
Writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson spoke with Marvel about this new series. He shares that working on the first season of Marvel’s Alien was a “horror fanboy’s dream come true.” However, this new series aims to “outdo it in every way.” Everything spins off a story in Alien: Icarus, where readers meet the Synthetic Special Operations Team. The team is led by an unstoppable synthetic named Freyja. When it comes to the art for the series, Johnson says that artist Julius Ohta is killing it. He shares that Ohta is “exceeding all expectations as series artist.” All of the horror elements featured in the series are “lovingly rendered” by Ohta, who is “at the top of his game.” Meanwhile, Ohta shares that when he got the job, he was “determined to make it the best work of my life.” Of course, it didn’t come without a little freaking out that he would be handling such an icon. Although, that responsibility was eased by the welcome he received from the creative team. He shares that it has been “fantastic” to work with the team. After it is all said and done, he hopes readers enjoy what they create and bring to the franchise. Tags: AlienMarvel Comics Previous Pete Davidson Leaving SNL After Tomorrow’ s Season Finale
