Poland’ s Witcher School Closes Over ‘ Political Concerns’

The school, which opened in 2016 to provide Witcher-style education, was canceled due to CD Projekt’s contract termination. While the reason for the school’s closure is not yet clear, the staff of the Witcher School is believed to be associated with the ultra-conservative Polish Catholic organization Ordo Iuris. The company 5 Żywiołów (5 Elements), which took over the management of the school, is alleged to be against gender equality, abortion, and LGBTQ. What Happened to The Witcher School
Ania Wawrzyniak is the person who was identified as having connections with the ultra-conservative Polish Catholic organization Ordo Iuris. Ania is the wife of 5 Żywiołów founder Dastin Wawrzyniak and also worked as a lawyer in the company for two years. However, it was recently revealed that she participated in some propaganda of the Ordo Iuris organization. She was commissioned to work on “Covid-19 anti-vaccine” and “draft legislation penalizing illegal abortion.” These propaganda claims first appeared in February and made a significant impact in Poland in a very short time. Polish media blamed CD Projekt Red for political matters and demanded the closure of the Witcher School managed by 5 Żywiołów. The media have pointed out that unknown activities at the school can be dangerous. “When the situation happened, we informed CD Projekt Red about it, which in response, without asking for any explanations, terminated the license agreement,” in a recent Facebook post of 5 Żywiołów. According to Euro Gamer, CD Project Red also confirmed that the school was closed. “In February, we decided to end our cooperation with the organizers of Witcher School. And now the contractual notice period of three months has ended,” CD Projekt Red said. The Witcher School Wants to Continue Without a License
It looks like 5 Żywiołów will struggle to keep the Witcher School going without a license from CD Projekt Red. “We will shoulder this blow, but we will definitely not give up,” a Facebook post said in February.
