‘ Pennyworth’ Season 3 Sees New Title for HBO Max Series

The on-the-nose title is straightforward that it is centered in the world of Batman as it is now called Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler. The new name appears at the end of the official trailer for the next outing for the butler. Created by Bruno Heller (Gotham), the series follows ex-British SAS soldier Alfred Pennyworth, played by Jack Bannon (The Imitation Game), who starts working with billionaire Thomas Wayne, played by Ben Aldridge (Fleabag), and his wife Martha, played by Emma Paetz (Gentleman Jack). The show takes place in the 60s before they became the parents of Bruce Wayne. Also starring in the series are Ryan Fletcher (Outlander), Paloma Faith (101 Dalmatian Street), Dorothy Atkinson (Mum), and Ramon Tikaram (EastEnders). Pennyworth season 3 takes jumps five years after the civil war when a new wave of superheroes and villains arrive on the scene. Pennyworth season 3 changes the title of the HBO Max series
No reasons were explicitly given for the name change for Pennyworth. Seeing Batman in the title will surely grab some extra attention to kick up the next season. Besides being one of the most popular characters in comics, earlier this year, we got The Batman, so with the Caped Crusader on people’s minds, it won’t hurt to put his name on the banner. For now, this confirms that Pennyworth is safe under the current shakeup with the canceled Batgirl, next year’s merging of Discovery+ and HBO Max, and other worrisome actions that have made people question the future of the platform’s flagship shows and DC projects. With shows in development like Peacemaker season 2, Gotham Knights, and a Penguin and Arkham Asylum series in the works in Matt Reeves’ universe, it seems that superhero and superhero-related stories are safe for now.
