School Spirits Rounds Out Cast on Paramount Plus

School Spirits, an upcoming Paramount Plus drama series, has officially announced the addition of six new names on their cast list today, just as the series reportedly begins production in Vancouver. Kristian Flores, Spencer MacPherson, Kiara Pichardo, Sarah Yarkin, Nick Pugliese, and Rainbow Wedell, along with previously announced Milo Manheim will be joining School Spirits star Peyton List. School Spirits, which was first announced in July 2022, will star Peyton List (Cobra Kai) as a teenage girl stuck in the afterlife who decides to investigate her own disappearance with the help of a group of students who, like her, are also eternally stuck in school. Two weeks ago, it was announced that Milo Manheim (American Housewife) would star as Wally, a loveable high school football player who died in the 1980s. The six new additions to the show, along with cast members Josh Zuckerman (Hypnotized) and Maria Dizzia (The First Lady) will round out the cast list as School Spirits officially enters the initial production stages with Paramount Plus. According to Deadline, the TV adaptation of School Spirits will be based on an upcoming graphic novel of the same name by Nate and Megan Trinrud along with Maria Nguyen. Nate Triund has previously served as an assistant director on the MCU’s Black Widow (2021) and the director of Pop Rox (2017), Megan Trinrud was a cast member for Weird Little Things (2013), and Maria Nguyen is a Pulitzer-finalist illustrator. With the news of the new cast members, it has been confirmed that Kristian Flores, Spencer MacPherson, Kiara Pichardo, Sarah Yarkin, Nick Pugliese, and Rainbow Wedell will be starring in School Spirits as teenage spirits stuck in their high school who all band together around List’s yet unnamed character to solve their disappearances. Kristian Flores will portray Simon Elroy; Flores has held previous roles in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022) alongside Nicholas Cage. Spencer MacPherson, known for his roles in Reign (2015) and Degrassi: Next Class (2016), will play Xavier Baxter; Kiara Pichardo (Mother/Android) will play Nicole Herrera. Sarah Yarkin, who previously starred in Single Parents (2019) and Happy Death Day 2U (2019), will play Rhonda, while Nick Pugliese (13 Reasons Why) plays Charley and Rainbow Wedell (The Bureau of Magical Things) will play Claire Zolinski. Detailed character information regarding these new cast members has not yet been released, but more information can likely be expected as the series continues production. School Spirits on Paramount Plus will be produced by Awesomeness Studios and Oliver Goldstick (Bridgerton), along with Nate and Megan Trinurd, who wrote the pilot of the show and the graphic novel. Max Winkler (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) will serve as director and executive producer. School Spirits is expected to debut on Paramount Plus in 2023.
