Paramount Combining With Showtime for Single App

Discounts are being offered to get people moving for this unifying app for Paramount+ and Showtime. An ad-supported bundle is $7.99 a month and an ad-free version for $12.99 a month. If you already subscribe, you can upgrade to the package. After October 2, the discounts will be gone, and the prices will cost $11.99 for ads and $14.99 for no ads. To go for only Showtime will cost $10.99. Without the bundle, the streaming service is $4.99 with ads and $9.99 without them. Paramount and Showtime will combine into a single app bundle
Every platform has a different model, but seeing the Paramount+ app make this decision, could lead to more following in its footsteps. Before this, it was announced that HBO Max would combine with Discovery+ as Warner Bros. Discovery makes sweeping changes to its content and services. Meanwhile, Netflix is solo without any connections, and Disney has its core streamer with ESPN+ and Hulu. Compared to other streaming services, the Paramount+ app holds some substantial numbers. It was last reported (via IndieWire) that it had about 43 million subscribers. Comparatively, Amazon Prime Video has approximately 200 million, Disney has 221 million with all three services combined with Disney+ holding 152 million, Hulu has 46 million, and the trio of HBO, HBO Max, and Discovery+ is 92 million. Apple never released numbers for its service or even numbers on how many people watch its original content. The Paramount+ app might be pretty new, but it is gaining traction due to its strong shows. While not catching sparks like HBO with House of the Dragon and Succession, Apple with Severance, Netflix’s Stranger Things and The Sandman, and Disney+ being the home to Marvel and Star Wars shows. Still, it holds Star Trek series like Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks, and Discovery.
