NBA 2K23 Release Date and First Cover Star Michael Jordan Announced

The legendary NBA Star will be the first of many athletes gracing the cover of the game’s Michael Jordan and Championship editions, with later announcements bringing further details. 2K Sports has announced the game’s release date, arriving September 9th. Players can once again head back to the court to test their skills. Featuring Completely Rebuilt Challenges of Michael Jordan’ s Career
Michael Jordan, the 14-time NBA all-star, five-time MVP, and six-time champion, will once again grace the cover of NBA 2K23, with his last feature being on the NBA 2K16 Special Edition. 2K Sports announced that the upcoming title would feature a “completely rebuilt” version of the Jordan Challenge in NBA 2K11. Players will be tasked with virtually recreating Michael Jordan’s real-life feats. One of these challenges will have players attempting to score 38 points while also making at least seven rebounds, just as the legend had done during his memorable June 1997 finals game against the Utah Jazz. Michael Jordan had been suffering from flu-like symptoms during that game while also managing to play at that level. NBA 2K23 will feature 15 Jordan Challenges, featuring ten completely rebuilt challenges from NBA 2K11 with five new challenges made for NBA 2K23. “The Jordan Challenge also elevates an array of spellbinding performances across Jordan’s college, NBA, and Team USA Basketball careers that players can experience across all 15 Challenges and includes unique video vignettes that come with special commentary from an array of NBA luminaries: Jordan’s teammates, opponents, and other sports personalities, who saw him do it live and can bring to life his legacy to a younger generation of NBA fans. More details on The Jordan Challenge in NBA 2K23 will be released later this summer.” stated 2K Sports. 2K announced that the Championship Edition would include a 12-month subscription to the NBA League Pass, typically $15 monthly. Pricing for these editions has yet to be announced, but players will find out more on July 7th when preorders open.
