First Lie Wins Krista Vernoff Octavia Spencer Producing

It’s a “twisty cat-and-mouse” by Ashley Elston that will be published in 2023. Krista Vernoff and Vernoff and Meghann Plunkett are writing the script for the Hulu adaptation. They have previously collaborated on the series Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19. Vernoff serves as the showrunner for both of those series. Plunkett also worked on Vernoff’s now-canceled ABC drama Rebel. Octavia Spencer, Vernoff, and Plunkett are executive producers of the First Lie Wins adaptation. Brian Clisham, Stephanie Kluft, Author Elston, and Trip the Light Productions partner Alexandre Schmitt will be executive producers. Brian Clisham and Stephanie Kluft are executive producers under Spencer’s company Orit Entertainment. Trip the Light has an overall deal with ABC Signature. The Oscar-winning actor has experience in a range of genres. Octavia Spencer plays Poppy Parnell in the Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told. Parnell seeks out truth and justice while hosting a hit podcast. Orit Entertainment has produced the series Truth Be Told, Self-Made, and the documentary Right to Try. Now Octavia Spencer is turning to Hulu with Krista Vernoff for the adaptation of First Lie Wins. Both know how to make dramas. The Hulu adaptation should be a breeze for the two. Octavia Spencer has experience producing content and starring in it. Vernoff is behind the scenes, so she can benefit from the experience Spencer brings to the table for First Lie Wins. Spencer starred in numerous dramas throughout her career, and there is no word whether or not she’ll cast herself in this adaptation.
