Following his dance-themed opening monologue, the comic host tried a few highly strung jokes but managed to stay out of controversy. The joke featured Zendaya Coleman while stylishly bashing DiCaprio, who recently broke up with his 25-year-old girlfriend. Kenan Thompson started off DiCaprio’s jab by pointing out Zendaya’s age. The actress just turned 26 last week, and the Emmy host saw it as an opportunity to make a joke. According to Thompson, 26 is a weird age in the movie industry. He added that you’re too young to play a high school student but too old to date Leonardo DiCaprio. The joke was well accepted by the audience, who let out a big laugh, but shy Zendaya was seen covering her face. Thompson thrilled the audience by dancing to hit theme songs of some popular tv shows. Kenan Thompson played it safe before his soft jab at Leonardo DiCaprio. Thompson started off by proclaiming himself the ‘Mayor of Television’ as he donned a hat and a black tuxedo. He went on to state that television is the greatest invention of all time, and everyone in the room makes money from it. It’s becoming more like an established fact when it comes to the Titanic actor’s choice of women, especially their age. Leonardo DiCaprio, 47, recently split from his former girlfriend Camila Morrone, 25. Reports also have it that he’s dating another 25-year-old model from Ukraine. This is not the first time DiCaprio has been roasted for his relationships at an awards show.
