Gwen Stacy Returns To Judge Peter Parker

The current Judgment Day arc encompassing the entire Marvel Universe sees various heroes face judgment from universe-creating Celestials. Now, it is Peter Parker’s turn to face the music, and who better to dish out judgment than the love he lost in his pursuit of heroism. How Did We Get Here
Kieron Gillen and Valerio Schiti’s ambitious crossover event kicked off with a conflict between the mutants of Krakoa and the Eternals. As tensions rise between the two groups, the Avengers aimed to stop it before it turned into something catastrophic. However, that solution only made matters worse as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes unleashed the wrath of the Celestials. The Celestials, the beings responsible for the creation of the world, soon cast judgment upon the heroes of Earth. Now, mutants, Avengers, and Eternals alike must answer to their creators and be judged for their actions. Who will pass the test, and who will come up short? Gwen Stacy Returns
Now, Gwen Stacy returns to cast judgment on everyone’s favorite web slinger. Marvel previews this week’s new releases. In The Amazing Spider-Man #10, a resurrected Gwen Stacy shows up to dish out some truth to Peter Parker. Of course, it is not actually Gwen Stacy, as we have seen how the Celestials use memory and magic to judge the heroes. Still, it is startling for Parker to see the girl he lost so long ago show back up. For those unfamiliar with Parker’s love life, Gwen Stacy was the first girl that Peter Parker loved. However, back in 1973’s The Amazing Spider-Man #121, Stacy met an untimely end at the hands of the Green Goblin. While Gwen Stacy returns to judge Spider-Man and will likely not stick around for long, she does show up at a weird time for the web slinger. During the 10th issue, Parker is broken up with his longtime love Mary Jane Watson. Therefore, it is hard to tell what Stacy’s sudden reappearance may do to the young hero.
